It's designed for boring blogs?
I don't know...you're quoting something from almost a year ago. I liked you less then.
I didn't know you cared!

The concept of the triune God was first introduced on the very first statement in the Bible.
Genesis 1
1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
"Elohim" - which is the Hebrew PLURAL noun, is used.
What is the meaning of the word Elohim?
You're now doing exactly what you stated you didn't want done. ( derailing your own thread after I told you I would step aside ). If you're really going to be consistent, you should be calling out IJM also, as it was he who interjected himself into the convo and engaged in starting a debate by making an irrelevant comment about JWs, something you stated this thread was not designed for. Correct ?
Amen.
Philippians 2
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
If Jesus is the very nature, God - and He is EQUAL with God - who else can He be?
John 8
19 Then they asked him, “Where is your father?”
“You do not know me or my Father,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”
Dispute over who Jesus is
24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”
25 “Who are you?” they asked.
“Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied. 26 “I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.”
27 They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28 So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up[a] the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29 The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.”
Jesus' Claims About Himself
50 I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. 51 Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.”
54 Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55 Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and obey his word.
God wants glorification. He's the only God, and He wants to be glorified.
Therefore......why would Jesus claim that God glorifies Him?
Wouldn't that contradict this verse?
Isaiah 42
8 I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
Not only does He identify Himself as The Lord (the same title given to Jesus)........but why would God give glory to the Son, if they're not One and the Same?
God says He isn't going to give glory to another.....why is Jesus claiming otherwise?
If you believe Jesus is not God....
......then, you're saying the Bible has contradictions......Jesus was just mouthing off nonsense......
.........and therefore, the Bible cannot be trusted.
Thanks to Elvira for giving this. I don't think it's been posted in this thread.
“He is the reflection of [God’s] glory and the exact representation of his very being.”
Hebrews 1:3
Not only is Jesus a reflection of God (as in your own reflection shown in the mirror)……………….
.....................….but, He is also the EXACT REPRESENTATION of GOD's VERY BEING!
In other words, Jesus Christ is the FACSIMILE of God, as a human!
Facsimile means, a reproduction!

Not a facsimile, the same thing. Coessential, the same. Not a copy.

So if Jesus IS God, when he said "Father, forgive them!", who was he talking to?
If Jesus was God, how could He pray to God? Was Jesus praying to Himself? | GotQuestions.orgQuestion: "If Jesus was God, how could He pray to God? Was Jesus praying to Himself?"
Answer: To understand Jesus as God on earth praying to His Father in heaven, we need to realize that the eternal Father and the eternal Son had an eternal relationship before Jesus took upon Himself the form of a man. Please read John 5:19-27, particularly verse 23 where Jesus teaches that the Father sent the Son (also see John 15:10). Jesus did not become the Son of God when He was born in Bethlehem. He has always been the Son of God from eternity past, still is the Son of God, and always will be.
Jesus was always part of the tri-unity, along with the Holy Spirit. The tri-unity always existed, the Father God, the Son God, and the Spirit God, not three gods, but one God existing as three persons. Jesus taught that He and His Father are one (John 10:30), meaning that He and His Father are of the same substance and the same essence. The Father, Son and Spirit are three co-equal persons existing as God. These three had, and continue to have, an eternal relationship.
He was talking to the Father.
If Jesus was God, how could He pray to God? Was Jesus praying to Himself? | GotQuestions.org
This is gibberish. If he was God he would know what he was thinking about his mistreatment because it was happening to him. Too silly. Snap crackle and pop
That response is too common. A dime a dozen.
Because, just like most atheists in forums - you're arguing about something you hardly get.
If you even have an inkling what the Triune God means, you wouldn't be asking that question.
Even your answer now, it shows either you didn't read the whole explanation in that link, or it went sailing over your head.
Your post is too revealing - it reveals you still don't get it.
Anyway, that's the belief of Trinitarians.
If you have any problem with that belief - then, for your sake, we better discuss it in the appropriate section.
The triune God is nonsensical. It means that at least two incompatible cults were cobbled together to forge a new improved cult when the old ones were dying.
