(Vocabulary) New word insults men

The Merriam-Webster dictionary for 2018 has added 850 new words.

One of them is the verb mansplain, which means "to explain condescendingly."


Example: "Ryan began to mansplain about film history to his date, even though she had a PhD in the subject."


What if we replaced "Ryan" with "Jane"? Can a female also be said to "mansplain"? My source does not say.

"Femsplain" would work.
 
It seems the correct application of mansplaining is if a man is trying to explain to a woman how women think or act as if he has greater knowledge of it.
 
I think it's rather presumptions for someone to think I'm condescending them just because they're female. I'm condescending to everyone.

Some examples of mansplaining:

at the racetrack—where I've worked for 14 years—men regularly try to explain to me how gambling works as I take their bets.

men regularly try to explain that there weren't women writing in the Middle Ages (I have a PhD in medieval women's writing).

A man once explained street harassment to me: "Apparently, it's a thing now."

Men are not a disadvantaged minority. The betas need to stop crying.

Have you ever had a woman "femsplain" how to fold clothes? Load the dishwasher? Change or comfort the baby?

That's not what femsplaining would mean. If I was a professional clothes folder or had shown no signs that I was bad at folding clothes, and a woman tried to explain how to fold clothes under the assumption that she knew better because she was a woman, then that would be an example.

If I'm making a hash of folding clothes and a woman explains to me how to do it because she actually is better at it, then that is not femsplaining.

Apparently you have never heard a woman talk about parenting to a man, or decorating a home, etc... i can think of many topics women believe they are superior

The only time I have seen that or personally experienced it is when my wife is going away for a few days and is explaining to me how to take care of our kids when she is gone. It is one of the few things she does that really annoys me. I know how to take care of our kids.

Just because "men are not a disadvantaged minority" does not mean that crap doesn't happen to them also. One of these days you'll realize that ALL discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation etc etc is bad and that you should be standing up against ALL of such types of discrimination.

Your "boo hoo" callousness to genuine suffering stems from your sexism against men, just like your racism against white people.

It also proves to us all that any claims you might have about being opposed to oppression or discrimination based on sex or race is completely dishonest.

So...you can't point to anyone that is "blaming everyone else" or show how they are doing so? All you've got is one liners meant to ridicule. This shows that you have failed in your assertions made in this thread.
