A man has been stabbed in the chest during violence involving "hundreds" of fans outside West Ham's Upton Park stadium during a game with Millwall.
Fights broke out at 1915 BST and were still raging more than an hour later. A 44-year-old man is stable after being stabbed in Priory Road at 2025 BST.
Brits rioting at a soccor game; how is this news?
Tis true
I don't understand it personally.
Its just football! What is so special about it that people would fight over it
It's a ****ing soccer game for crying out loud. What's to get upset about? I guess if I couldn't drink myself to the point where I wouldn't remember a thing (since it's just a soccer game and all), maybe I'd be upset enough to fight.
:rofl
Yea, however there was on pitch issues that contributed to the problem.. I believe the ref was not exactly good in what he was doing that night.
And then there are historical issues. West Ham and Millwall were part of the real "bad boys" of the 1970s. Back then, there was a core fan group who only went to the matches to fight and so on. Those were the real bad old days but we have not seen such acts in the UK for at least 2 decades now.. heck 25 years. So that is why it is breaking news.
Maybe you didn't pick up the fact that I don't give a rat's ass. To "us stoopid Mericans", it's a fight at a soccer game - big deal.

And us non-Americans are hardly enthralled by every little thing Obama or his gov't does and yet a lot that gets into the breaking news section. I'm sure if Obama switched toilet paper we'd get 3 different threads on it.
Okay, but when I see the roll eyes I generally consider it a derisive point being make. You don't see it being used humourously a lot.Lighten up and remove the wad from your and Petey's panties for crying out loud. I was joking around - making light of the football/soccer thing. Maybe you missed the :rofl or the  in both of my posts.
:2wave:
