My phone is in SOS mode, and apparently so are thousands of others. Anyone having an issue with their Verizon phones this AM?

Looks to be a pretty massive outage:

"Since reports of the outage first began appearing in the 9AM ET hour, there have been over 105,000 reports of an outage on Down Detector for Verizon, and that appears to be increasing as well.

Folks note that they cannot dial out or have no network, which results in the SOS icon appearing to replace network bars on a newer iPhone. With this feature, the iPhone can connect to a satellite to help send messages or make calls. It was originally used for Emergency SOS via Satellite but now also functions for Messages via Satellite. "

What’s the geographic area, we have Verizon and so far no worries. We are in the Mid-Atlantic area with a line of sight cell tower.

I’m smack dab in the middle of Iowa and I’ve got the SOS indicator on my iPhone 15.

As good as ever here. 25 years with Verizon.

My iphone on Verizon in ABQ seems to be working normally.

I'm in Arizona, and I hear it's all over. You're lucky!

That's good! I'm having to let my guys off work because of it today. They're pretty happy to have a phone day tho. lol
Aren’t you a contractor? Why the need for instant comms?

Commercial Plumbing company, and contractor. :) I would have organized jobs better last night if I would have known.

It's very widespread.

One of the reasons that you pay more for Verizon is because this shit doesn't happen like it does for the fly by night services. It's a bit annoying when it's down for this long. I realized during my commute that if I got a flat or had other car problems, I could be sitting there for hours while my kids and wife wonder when the hell I'm going to get there to pick them up. I hope they get it fixed quickly and make an announcement about what happened. Sure, I know that everything used to be this way, but I've had a cell phone at least for emergencies since the early 1990s. You definitely notice it when it becomes an expensive brick in your pocket.
