WASHINGTON — Vice President JD Vance said Wednesday that the Trump administration believes Russia is "asking for too much" during talks to bring its war in Ukraine to an end.
“Right now, the Russians are asking for a certain set of requirements, a certain set of concessions, in order to end the conflict. We think they’re asking for too much,” Vance said at a Munich Leaders Meeting on international security policy in Washington, D.C.
Asked about Vance’s comments later Wednesday, President Donald Trump said, “It’s possible that’s right.”

Duh.
Acting as though Russia is an honest broker in this has always been rather pathetic and naive. Or has it all been just a show? Who couldn't have predicted that Russia would drag things out and make unrealistic demands when the Trumpm administration makes virtually no demands on them anyway?
I doubt Russia cares if Trump walks away from peace talks anyway. It would have just been an opportunity for them to re-calibrate.
