The former US president's campaign has collected nearly $20 million in the past three weeks, when he was indicted over false claims regarding the 2020 election. Trump is polling highest among Republican candidates.

US former President Donald Trump's election campaign has raised some $20 million (approximately €18.5 million) in roughly the time since his indictment in federal and state cases connected to false claims on the 2020 election.

Of the sum, $7.1 million have been collected since Thursday alone, when Trump had his mug shot taken in a fraud case in Atlanta, Georgia, his spokesman Steven Cheung said on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Friday was the highest-grossing day of the former president's campaign so far, Cheung added. Trump brought in $4.18 million that day.

Meanwhile, in the Republican presidential primary projections, Trump is ahead of his rivals by 30 to 50 points.

He will need the money to cover his lawyer costs ... LOL.

In the first 6 months of 2023, he already had to spend 40 million $ of hard-earned US taxpayer money to pay his lawyers so he can stay out of prison ... :P

Who actually is so stupid to donate to a so-called "billionaire" ? The Trump cultists are seriously retarded.

Meanwhile, working-class heroes Biden/Harris are collecting 100 million $ per quarter - money they can wisely spend in the 7-10 swing states over the next year and on grassroots organization.

Meanwhile, Trump and his VP candidates will butcher themselves in the R primary and spend all their money on the primaries and Trump on his lawyers.

Angry people taking food off their children's tables, to help out a billionaire who represents their anger.

It doesn't even look real. Trump exaggerates his (let's be kind) bad attitude to the Law, to the point I couldn't find ANY mugshot in which the suspect went so far out of their way to look like an evil, unrepentent, deranged criminal. I was thinking maybe Charles Manson, but no ...

That's Manson in 2010, btw.

its really senseless to talk about "campaigns", since no matter what American public thinks, they certainly dont decide who will be the president. Its up to the deep state bosses to elect the "president" of the United States. Today its a walking zombie, crawling to the stage to mumber some senseless shit, tomorrow it will be the monkey, yelling stupid slogans. The globalists will continue to push their agenda anyway...

Friggin' sick.

America likes it when Biden and his DOJ continues to make Trump more popular with the people. After watching the left in the streets the past few years Trump looks like a choir boy.

Conspiracy theory and defeatism is a really bad combination.

Even within the straight-jacket of Two Party rule (a chaotic attractor following from first-past-the-post geographical representation) it is still possible for one party or the other to claim the center. To get elected without corporate or PAC money. To dominate to the extent they could pass amendments to the Constitution outlawing bribery and personal favoritism.

Obviously the Democratic Party is closer to that now, than the Republican Party is. But that could change. If Trump runs and loses next year, Republicans will be condemned to the minority for most of the next decade. They may split (as they've done before) or they may have to rebuild from the center. If Trump loses two of three, the Republican Party will have nothing to lose.

not a dime from our household

not a dime from our household

I obviously should approve that. Except, who are you to say what donations your household members make?

Seems a bit "family values" and not in a good way.

Buildings can be rebuilt, merchandise replaced and bruises will heal. Destroying a functioning democracy is no canticle, @VySky.

And by "the people* you mean MAGAts. He is not becoming more popular with those outside of the cult.

The problem as I see it, is that this marketing ploy is only resonating wit the base. the base are digging deeper to give. Stunts like this don’t change undecided voters to join the base, quite the opposite, imo.

That may be how it works in Russia, the third world country you live in, but in the US we have free and fair elections. Sometimes Rs win, sometimes Ds win, unlike in Russia where Putin always wins and any other parties are banned or neutered.

Money isn't everything. Clinton raised more than Trump in 2016, but she still lost.

But our society was murdered in the streets. Sad

Not true. He has only become more popular. Please keep up the good work 👍

Whoa. The definition of "third world" comes from the Cold War era, in which the Soviet Union was assumed to be the "second world". Russia is categorized now as a "developing nation" ie second world, not third world.

If you're going to call Russia "third world" you also have to include China, India and Mexico.

Let's go with three categories, like the UN, the IMF etc use. "US and them" is Cold War thinking, it's unproductive at best.

, but in the US we have free and fair elections. Sometimes Rs win, sometimes Ds win, unlike in Russia where Putin always wins and any other parties are banned or neutered.

"Sometimes R's win, sometimes D's win" is a first world problem.

And the inability to start again with a proportional representation system, is a purely American problem. Well Japanese too I guess. Oh, and British, which is where Americans got the silly idea that representatives from each county would combine to express the will of the people accurately.

Europeans got the chance to reboot democracy, after WW2, and overwhelmingly they chose the Nordic model of proportional representation. It's the best system. It allows single issues to be addressed (drug legalization in NL for instance), it allows extremists to be represented and their claims to be fairly heard and democratically rejected. It allows everyone to be represented, discouraging illegal recourse by minorities. It's just a better system, for voters and for a nation. If you need more, it is strongly opposed by both major parties because they like it when the other party ****s up and they get an unearned chance of majority representation.

Not sure what any of this really has to do with anything. You're butt hurt I called Russia, whose economy is smaller than Italy's and is literally on fire as we speak, a third world country? Get over it, tovarish. I'm going to keep calling it that no matter how loud you whine.

The rest of your rambling in no way showed that the person I responded to was right about our elections being rigged. Show your evidence or run along now.

Takes all kinds of kinds you know.

Trump has his own money and doesn't need mine.

Given something like 70+ million Americans voted for Trump in 2020 he really isn't getting that much and most of what he is getting is likely just coming from people that already have a lot more than what they need.

Trump and the GOP did lower taxes for a lot of wealthy people, so I'm sure what they are giving him is a bargain compared to the money they would have wasted on taxes over the years.

You save people hard earned money, some of them are going to be grateful.

CBS News poll finds Trump's big lead grows, as GOP voters dismiss indictments

Trump’s support is like the famous e sauce line in the recipe, “thickening will occur on standing.” There are no new ingredients/voters being added.
There are no fence voters who have said, “yeah, this is what I was waiting for!”

Then how are numbers increasing after indictment? For all purposes that got folks off the fence as the numbers show. Here come the Indies.

Russia is a developing nation, not an undeveloped nation.

Your terminology of "third world" is simply an old-fashioned word for "undeveloped." The Cold War is over, tovarish.

The rest of your rambling in no way showed that the person I responded to was right about our elections being rigged. Show your evidence or run along now.

Russia is on a bad course to military dictatorship, I won't dispute that. What I do dispute is your misuse of the term "third world" which refers to economic development, and has always meant that.
