You know it is time you get off the partisan bandwagon pointing fingers and start focusing on the real threats we face as a nation due to fecklessness of parties fighting over power and demand better.
Please source a hard news article, and not some editorial from the NYT. He did say no comic book cartoons.
Pointing out failure of an administration is not being partisan. Especially when those in his own party are doing the same. I suggest you take off those rose colored glasses you must be wearing so you can better get a view of reality. Cheers! You might want to take your own advice.
That's a book review.
Airstrikes have started, lets see if anything substantive comes of it. Knowing Obama this was all show.
Just think about it for yoruself Enigma; do you really think air power alone is going to destroy and organization like ISIS? When has air power alone ever succeeded in destroying an enemy?
No it will take boots on the ground. Just not our boots hopefully. It's time the folks in the region that have the most to lose from ISIS step up to the plate. We already have fighter jets from five middle eastern countries involved in the airstrikes. Hopefully that is a sign of things to come for their boots on the ground.
The United States and Saudi Arabia created Islamic militants like Al Qaeda and, I wouldn't be shocked, ISIS.
Where do you think these guys got their guns and their military training?
The endgame is to topple Assad. We armed and trained the ISIS fighters, but now they're getting out of hand, so we're bombing them as an appeasement to the American public and also to send a message.
This is bigger than Obama and ISIS. It's not a show. The endgame is to, firstly, secure and consolidate our victory in Iraq by getting the Islamic militants in line and then.... replace the Assad regime.
This would happen whether we had a democrat or a republican in office.
Follow the money.
 Oh you're one of those people huh? Look, I get that your history only goes so far as it will to appears your America Bashing, but the truth of the matter is that there isn't a grand conspiracy here, it's just whack job Muslims doing their usual thing. If anything, the error was a lack of imagination on the government's part, not ... I'm sorry what is it you're accusing the Americans and Saudis of doing now?

What does that even mean, "in line". You do realize that 50% of radical Islamist are our enemy right? We're not talking about 30 years ago (you know, when there was this thing in history called the Cold War), but today, after 9/11 when 3000 Americans were killed.
I'm not accusing the Americans and Saudis of anything.... they've freely admitted it. Get off your MSNBC/Fox News/CNN kick and go research the matter for yourself.
Ask yourself this.... how does a ragtag group of "whackjob Muslims" conquer Afghanistan? Conquer large swaths of Iraq and Syria? It takes a trained, organized, and well equipped army to accomplish that.
We armed and trained them to fight our geopolitical foes, the Russians, Assad, Sadaam Hussein, the Iranians. Those nations that actually pose a security risk to the way of life of the American Public.
These "whackjob muslims" are just the ones that got out of hand.... yes, they deserve blame for being fundamentalist nuts, but we also shoulder some blame for arming and training them to begin with.
The airstrikes in Syria have little to do with fighting terrorists. The geopolitical goal of the United States is to topple the Assad regime or to force it in to submission.
You might not know this, but in addition to airstrikes, we are currently arming what our administration is calling "the moderate resistance" forces in Syria to fight a ground war there. The airstrikes are nothing but air cover for these "moderate resistance forces."
9/11 is the biggest public relations stunt in the history of the United States. "Terrorism" is often the excuse the USA uses to fight wars in the middle east.

American airstrikes against ISIS targets are under way in Syria, according to a Pentagon official.
"I can confirm that U.S. military and partner nation forces are undertaking military action against ISIL [ISIS] terrorists in Syria using a mix of fighter, bomber and Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles," Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby said. "Given that these operations are ongoing, we are not in a position to provide additional details at this time. The decision to conduct theses strikes was made earlier today by the U.S. Central Command commander under authorization granted him by the commander in chief. We will provide more details later as operationally appropriate."

Stupid, stupid, stupid.
This will, imo, do NOTHING except make the area more volatile and get more Americans killed in reprisal terrorist attacks - which will mean more Americans will lose more freedoms/rights as the government uses these attacks to justify more and more control over the masses.
This will NOT end well.
Let the locals fix their own problems.

Fine - you give us a link and then we will both know it.Except it seems that Arab Nations are participating in air strikes as well, at least according to a Jordanian Govt official I heard from earlier.
You think Americans are losing freedoms/rights now, what do you think will happened if/when a WMD is set off in a major American city?
I do think in this case that the combination of Assad, Iraq and Iran could deal with the situation even without US air strikes if they got coordinated.
You know, I've always found it so fascinating how people believe that the people aren't able to do anything without the US. How such low opinions you have of them.
*PEW* *PEW* *PEW* I hope they like drones. Eat it suckas.
Why did we fight the Nazi's and the Japanese in WW2? Why didn't it just create more terrorists? Why didn't appeasement work?
Fine - you give us a link and then we will both know it.
Good day.
