UPenn to ban transgender athletes, feds say, ending civil rights case

Its "for the children." 😂

The trans ones committing suicide are fine though.
There's no evidence that "trans care for minors" has any effect on suicide rates.

The lack of combined effective medical and psych support has a great deal to do with suicidality. This is obvious. Not treating a medical problem causes long term problems, some of which are death.

Being transgender just doesn't go away away if it is not treated quickly and effectively.

Yes, where "medical support" is perhaps a psychiatrist prescribing Prozac or somesuch. The sorts of treatments that are offered to anyone who is suicidal.

Antidepressants do not treat gender idneity. You cannot put the condition on pause until they are 18 because of transphobic bigotry.

The patient is suicidal because the underlying condition of incongruent gender idneity is being ignored and not effectively treated.

another victory for "common sense" ( which these days is not common at all)
Under the agreement, Penn agreed to restore all individual Division I swimming records and titles to female athletes who lost out to Thomas, the Education Department said. Penn also agreed to send a personalized apology letter to each of those swimmers.

The university must also announce that it “will not allow males to compete in female athletic programs” and it must adopt “biology-based” definitions of male and female, the department said.

“The Department commends UPenn for rectifying its past harms against women and girls, and we will continue to fight relentlessly to restore Title IX’s proper application and enforce it to the fullest extent of the law,” McMahon said in a statement.
This isn't be. Some MAGA just a few days ago told me Trump had banned all trans athletes period.

The potato head listed it as one of Trump's great achievements.

The NCAA already banned trans atheletes so that point is moot.

And Lia Thomas won one race.

Thats a lot of ink spilled over a thing that happened years ago and the right has already won the day on.
Don't forget they have to apologize.

You believe gender identity needs to be treated? Do you believe gender identity is a mental disorder?

You cannot put the condition on pause until they are 18 because of transphobic bigotry.
Gender identity is a condition now?

The patient is suicidal because the underlying condition of incongruent gender idneity is being ignored and not effectively treated.
Should we update the DSM to reflect this?

Haha…it’s as if Lia never even swam collegiately.

Imagine doing this to yourself to save your athletic career, then you wind up with no athletic career anyway.

When a persons gender identity is incongruent with a persons biological sex is being transgender.
Gender identity is a condition now?

See Above.

See DSM-5, 302.85. It was 302.5.
