Nebraska exists only to grow wheat.Just guessing but somehow I doubt if many Nebraskans rued your departure for long. Their tears would have soon. dried
Two lines. Two errors. Couldn't be more wrong.Getting rid of DEI is racism.
They are trying to disenfranchise non-white students.
We will agree to disagree. Two lines. Two errors. Couldn't be more wrong.
When you take the time and scroll all the way to the bottom it tells you everything you need to know about the link and the authors. Sounds like O’Reilly and friends in reverse.Yes, efforts to eliminate DEI programs are rooted in racism
Right-wing activists who have long criticized liberalism and “wokeness” in higher education and helped force the resignation of Claudine Gay, Harvard University’s first African American president, have now set their sights on ending the diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, programs that these activists claim helped place figures like Gay in her job in the first place.
Christopher Rufo, the conservative activist who played a pivotal role in forcing Gay’s resignation, stated this view bluntly on X – formerly known as Twitter– following Gay’s ouster: “Today, we celebrate victory. Tomorrow, we get back to the fight. We must not stop until we have abolished DEI ideology from every institution in America.”

There’s a backlash against programs that aim to reverse the effects of systemic racism in the US. A survey indicates that racism is behind that backlash.theconversation.com
That is probably news to all those Cornhuskers.Nebraska exists only to grow wheat.
Sort of like Wyoming exists solely to produce crazy people.
I was trying not to be tacky about it.That is probably news to all those Cornhuskers.
When we need advice on the subject, we'll ask.Two lines. Two errors. Couldn't be more wrong.
Getting rid of DEI offices and officials at universities is not really a big problem for students or professors. The duties simply revert back to the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX which is federally mandated and can't be disbanded no matter how much conservative whites complain. When DEI became popular most universities set up an office to show they were concerned and doing something. But they were largely dupicating the E O and Title IX office. Disbanding them because of pressure from white conservatives is a bit cowardly but it will save some money.Yes, efforts to eliminate DEI programs are rooted in racism

Good for them. DEI is evil.
lol, crazy post is looney tunes crazy
You hit the nail the head and justifies the fact that DEI is another program that duplicates existing programs and just adds another layer of fat to an already bloated higher education bureaucracy. That is the main reason many conservatives are opposed and not racism. If you dig deeply enough I’m sure you’ll find racists. Not everything is answered with a simpleton accusation that it’s because of racist white conservatives. That meme has gotten old but it still attracts people like yourself who are too lazy to do real research on your own and stop being spoon fed by the usual race baiting tripe.Getting rid of DEI offices and officials at universities is not really a big problem for students or professors. This is partially the problem with the present student loan situation. You hit the nail the head and justifies the fact that DEI is another program that duplicates existing programs and just adds another layer of fat to an already bloated higher education bureaucracy. Yes, there was, and yes, it keeps growing very year.
In 2010, Obama eliminated the federal guaranteed loan program, which let private lenders offer student loans at low interest rates. Now, the Department of Education is the only place to go for such loans.Obama sold this government takeover as a way to save money — why bear the costs of guaranteeing private loans, he said, when the government could cut out the middleman and lend the money itself? The cost savings didn't happen. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office just increased its 10-year forecast for the loan program's costs by $27 billion, or 30%.What did happen was an explosive growth in the amount of federal student loan debt. President Clinton phased in direct federal lending in 1993 as an option, but over the next 15 years the amount of loans was fairly stable. The result of Obama's action is striking. In each of the past six years, federal direct student loan debt has climbed by more than $100 billion. (See chart.)And since Obama keeps making it easier and easier to avoid repaying those loans, it's a problem that taxpayers will eventually have to shoulder.Through words and actions, Obama has encouraged irresponsibility on the part of student borrowers. He constantly talks as if student debt were an unfair burden they unknowingly had foisted upon them. The Real Student Loan Crisis Is The One Obama Created
Irresponsibility: A new report finds that 27.3% of student loans are delinquent. Why does this matter? Because thanks to President Obama, about $1 trillion dollars of student loan debt is... Read Morewww.investors.com 04/16/2015

Undisputed.

While student loan costs can currently be borne by governments, these programs are likely to have growing costs as adoption increases and tuition growth outpaces inflation.Explainer: the US student loan problem and how we got here
The US student loan system is unique in age, size, and scope. Since 1958, the US has had some form of federally sponsored student loan system. Since inception, college and borrowing have become much more…theconversation.com November 13, 2014
This is exactly what we are seeing now, and have been seeing. Note that 'tuition growth outpaces inflation', and the CBO estimated the costs of these loans over the course of 10 years upwards by 30%.
Now, Econ 101. What happens to prices of goods and services when there's more demand than there is supply?
Yes, growing far more than inflation ever was during these years.
So there's your price increase
The graphs is showing you the results of this feed back loop. I provided the dates which these articles were written. This isn't a problem that's all of a sudden happening, it's a problem which has been growing ever larger since it was warned about on those dates.
So, yes, the government took over the student loan business and royally screwed it up, and put the tax payer on the hook to foot the bill.

We see that lack of affirmative action promotes racial segregation.

It's reality.
Okeeeeeyy. And.......................................?UNL is one of the whitest public schools in the country. My daughter graduated from UNL. The only non-white students I ever saw were either on athletic scholarships or foreign exchange students sponsored by their respective governments.

If they don't want to be relegated to making rainbow colored scooters they best fire their CEO.
Maybe so. Maybe those complaining about DEI and CRT were genuinely concerned about college costs to students. But only whites showed up to complain. And the only complaints were about diversity, equality and inclusion for blacks and sexually different ....... oh and the perpetual conservative concern who gets to use which bathrooms. You hit the nail the head and justifies the fact that DEI is another program that duplicates existing programs and just adds another layer of fat to an already bloated higher education bureaucracy.
