Oh my. This is bad:
"The August jobs report was hotly anticipated following a
stunning downward revision in the July report released one month ago.
The July report revised employment growth for May and June downward by a massive combined 258,000 jobs, revealing that spring hiring was much weaker than initially reported by the federal government.
Such a large revision signals that the economy is shifting rapidly, and that the assumptions built into initial estimates are faulty. Trump responded to the July report by firing the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, whom he accused of manipulating the jobs numbers "for political purposes."
But the August report continued to offer troubling revisions, with June hiring revised downward by 27,000, from +14,000 to -13,000, meaning the employed population actually shrank that month for the first time since 2020."
A negative jobs growth number!
No net jobs were created in June. Jobs were lost in June. More jobs lost than created. Ouch! That is bad, bad, bad, bad.
Trump's handling of the economy has been as bad as a pandemic.
Ouch!!!
Maga, you guys getting any of this? Is it beginning to sink in? You know, everything we've been telling yo about the con man egomaniac who won't listen to any experts and claims he alone "knows everything?" He is full of shit. You made a huge mistake supporting this guy.
It's OK. I forgive you. Anybody can make a mistake. There was lots of conflicting information out there. There was lots of peer pressure for 'going along.' I get it. It was an easy mistake to make. It's time to fess up. I totally forgive you. Particularly if you go ahead and change your mind. You're allowed to do that, you know. You don't even have to tell anybody. I know if you're in a peer group and it's all about everybody agreeing on one thing it's hard to keep friends if you disagree on that one thing. So just don't go there. You can keep your friends. They made the same mistake. You can forgive them just like I forgive you. Just don't talk about it. You don't have to tell them you think they made a mistake and that you forgive them. You can still be friends. Everybody makes mistakes.
But the next time you go to vote, that's private. You can vote for what's best; and obviously Trump and complicit Republicans have been a disaster for the economy. We have to turn that around. We have to take care of our country . We have to do the right thing. Yes, that can be confusing sometimes. Nobody ever said it was going to be easy. Ben Franklin worried about that. "If you can keep it."
Alexander Hamilton worried about that, too. Worried about the return of a monarchy, he described Trump to a T:
“Those then, who resist a confirmation of public order, are the true Artificers of monarchy—not that this is the intention of the generality of them. Yet it would not be difficult to lay the finger upon some of their party who may justly be suspected. When a man unprincipled in private life desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents, having the advantage of military habits—despotic in his ordinary demeanour—known to have scoffed in private at the principles of liberty—when such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularity—to join in the cry of danger to liberty—to take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government & bringing it under suspicion—to flatter and fall in with all the non sense of the zealots of the day—It may justly be suspected that his object is to throw things into confusion that he may “ride the storm and direct the whirlwind.”
