As already noted, the only thing the two armies have in common is the motorcycle. How it’s deployed, by whom, and under what circumstances are different. Russia is sending its guys in without proper support across open fields covered with mines. Ukrainian drones are inflicting heavy losses on what’s left. Ukraine doesn’t have the force levels to properly monitor the battle lines, so it’s increasingly relying on pickets of sophisticated AI-enabled reconnaissance drones. For Russia, the motorcycle is a means of conveyance, like an APC, except without the armor. The Ukrainians are using the bikes in strike groups, teaching their soldiers how to fire weapons while riding them like true cavalrymen. That’s the difference. Russia is just sacrificing its stormers trying to advance the lines.
war of attrition or not, it's insane to just make motorcycle/infantry advances without the ability to fire at the same time..good analysisFor Russia, the motorcycle is a means of conveyance, like an APC, except without the armor. In modern days the best place for motorcycles in warfare are with special forces units like the SAS and auxiliary AFAIK. With the introduction of quiet electric motorcycles, they have more of a use.war of attrition or not, it's insane to just make motorcycle/infantry advances without the ability to fire at the same time..good analysis

aside from kamikaze motorcycle tactics, it;s getting to be a bitch of an air war.Who said the Russians are sane? Golf carts? Scooters? Hoverboards? Clunker cars right out of Mad Max? Are they doing their Colonel Custer and Crazy Horse impressions on donkeys?

Russia plans to launch 500 kamikaze drones per day at Ukraine, HUR says
Russia currently uses 150 to 200 drones per attack against Ukraine, but Russian forces plan to increase their capabilities to 500, Vadym Skibitskyi said.kyivindependent.com
Western allies are not imposing any range restrictions on the use of long-range weapons delivered to Ukraine against Russian military targets, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday.
Merz pointed out that the restrictions have been lifted not only on German weapons.
"There are no longer any restrictions on the range of weapons delivered to Ukraine, neither by the UK, France, nor us. There are no restrictions by the US either," he said during a discussion forum organised by the public broadcaster, WDR.
i did. i mentioned on another thread the war is becoming "all in"Did you hear this:
Allies lift Ukraine's restrictions on long-range weapons, says Merz

Let the bolded part sink in.
Fascist Russian BS is not even close to the truth.Nope, My explanation was a pure truth. Compare this illegal transfers with the Catalonia referendum of independence ! Can you imagine that some moron in Spanish government organizes the "transfer" of Catalonia to France for example ? NO ?
Then why do you imagine that a bunch of Soviet bureaucrats have power to move Crimea to a different republic ? Or Donbass ?
i did. i mentioned on another thread the war is becoming "all in"
Seeing as how Dandolo couldnt get his soviet premiers right going so far as to blame a bureaucrat who died in the 70s long before there was even a referendum on this i wouldnt take anything he says to heart. The truth of the matter is no bureaucrat took Ukraine out of the soviet union, Ukraine wasnt even the first SSR to leave the union and every single Oblast in Ukraine voted, including ones in the Crimean and Donbas regions.Fascist Russian BS is not even close to the truth.
All you do is spout fascist Russian BS
Why do you think anyone will belIEve your obvious fascist Russian BS propaganda?
Where Putz goes, Dildo follows. It was ceded by the USSR to the Ukraine SSR.
That isn't theft.
Stop lying.
You gave nothing except unfounded claims and other stupid speculations.Kruschev was just your ignorance of soviet history. You cant walk that basic **** up back. Every single oblast voted. I gave you the totals.
You gave nothing except unfounded claims and other stupid speculations.
The way the Russians use motorcycles in Ukraine it is desperate and suicidal as the many videos show quite clearly. We have yet to see how Ukraine will use them but you can bet it will not be in meatwave assaults like Russia uses them for. They may have speed but their total lack of armor protection makes them easy kills.
Donbass (yes i know donbas is a region not an entire oblast but the point remains.) voted more in favor than crimea. Like i said every single oblast in modern Ukraine voted in the independence referendum.
Putin is an evil lying scumbag who is stealing land from ukrainians.
Ukraine is not Russia.
They are both doing it. Evolution of battlefield tactics which are far different than previous wars. Drones have changed everything. This is in some ways similar to what machine guns did when introduced in WW I. The battlefield is now under massive surveillance and big slow moving things like tanks are vulnerable to much cheaper and agile weapons systems. Not many places to hide except underground. Concentrations of men or vehicles draws attention very quickly.
The soviet union ceded it. You can stop lying now but i dont expect anything different from you.
It may be more useful if you stop pushing nonsense. It was not "ceded". Ukraine wasn't a separate country to begin with and it could not accept any "ceded" lands. Nonsense.
Actually there was a referendum in every ukrainian oblast.
We even have the vote totals broken down by each Oblast. Please lie less. After the ousting of Yanukovych, Ukraine held two elections before eventually deciding on Zelensky in the second.
Nobody traded Russian land. It was voted on in each Oblast. You just lied in a way a yank like me could easily disprove.

well it beats an infantry assault - at least the motorcycles are faster and able jump ditches. Apparently Ukraine thinks it's
worthwhile as well (OP)
But with drones, mines and anti tank like JAVELIN -or motorcycles- it's got to be a short lifespan on open ground
Yeah, I’m sure Putin will have another nuclear hissyfit and huff and puff and threaten to blow the European house in. (He doesn’t want to completely alienate Trump yet, so he’ll focus on the Euros and obliquely at the U.S. through NATO.) He undoubtedly didn’t like Trump calling him “absolutely crazy,” but he’s not crazy. He thinks the West is weak and that bleating more loudly will scare it enough to make it go away. I don’t think that’s going to work, at least not with the Europeans. They’re starting to figure out that Putin is a tyrant, and appeasing a tyrant is never an option; whenever one gives in to him he always comes back wanting more. Putin has demonstrated that he will do that. What you have to do is make it clear to him where your line in the sand is and that you will be resolute in defending it, regardless of the potential consequences.
Our exposure to motorcycle use by Russia consists of video after video of motorcycle attacks where the riders get totally annihilated by FPV drones, artillery or cluster munitions. I have not seen Ukrainians being massacred on motorcycles yet. Do you have a link? Ukraine goes into battle in Bradleys. Russia is out of APC's and you know it. Ukraine must have other ideas for using them since they do not use meat wave tactics where 100's die trying to get a foothold in some god awful village with little more than propaganda value. It is truly disgusting to see a nation that despises it's own enough to line them up for slaughter like Putin is doing. Putin truly is trying to be the reincarnation of Joseph Stalin. It is really spooky. BTW the million + Russians/N. Koreans/ Chinese and Iranians who will certainly die in Ukraine will have died for nothing no matter what the outcome is. Putin will never control all of Ukraine. The cool thing is that you are helping that slaughter along. I guess you agree that the only good Russian is a dead one.Iguanaman, your argument was not about the WAY Russians use motorcycles. You saw no merits in motorcycles. The Ukrainians themselves disproved you. Where you saw no merit, they did.
