WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Uber Technologies Inc [UBER.UL] on Thursday is resuming limited self-driving car testing on public roads in Pittsburgh, nine months after it suspended the program following a deadly accident in Arizona.

The return of testing comes days after the state of Pennsylvania granted Uber permission to resume testing.

This technology will happen. I believe it to be inevitable. Uber sees $$$ in this.

I agree. Having driven in Pittsburgh it would not be my first choice. Too congested, too confusing. I would think that Uber would be back in the desert where technological slips & other foul-ups would have less impact.

Pittsburgh was chosen I expect because of Carnegie Mellon Uni. It is a leader in autonomous driving and Penn, made regulations that are ideal for testing the tech to support it
