U.S. Terrorism Watch List Tops 1 Million
Newsmax.com - U.S. Terrorism Watch List Tops 1 Million
WASHINGTON - A U.S. watch list of terrorism suspects has passed 1 million records, corresponding to about 400,000 people, and a leading civil rights group said on Monday the number was far too high to be effective.

The Bush administration disagreed and called the list one of the most effective tools implemented after the September 11 hijacked plane attacks -- when a federal "no-fly" list contained just 16 people considered threats to aviation.

The American Civil Liberties Union publicized the 1 million milestone with a news conference and release.

There are now a possible 1 million terrifying terrorists amoung us in America.

Do we get a toaster or a watch or something?

Did anyone (including the OP) read so much as the first sentence of the article?

(Not that that's any less crazy, but still...)

That's probably because there are a few "Achmeds" and "Dijhblahkanards" with the same first name out there, requiring all with that name to be on the watch list, due to some intelligence received on the name.

I'd like to thank President Bush and the Department of Homeland Security for keeping America safe for the last 7 years. Despite a hostile enemy full of success in other countries, we've steered clear of further terrorist attacks on our homeland.

Yep. And thanks to me spraying for elephants, no pachyderms have flown through my house recently.

Pffft... why go to that much trouble? We have a southern border with thousands of criminals running over it all the time. Any terrorist would just need to fly to Mexico and skedaddle right on over the border with the others.

Except pachyderms don't generally try to fly through houses, while people generally do try to commit terrorism.

Why don't you tell them the easier way? ;)

How do you like to commit your terrorism? :2razz:

I have noticed a lack of angry Ay-rabs flying through my house before OR after 9/11.

But, since Bush has done nothing useful about terrorism, and is still somehow responsible for it stopping, perhaps he can share a can of his Terrorist-B-Gone Spray with Britain and Spain?

The Left's response to 9/11 has been more along the lines of, "Excuse me, you seemed to have dropped your box cutter."

If it wasn't for the left, we'd be having more racial profiling. Now we have to deal with Airport Security that says, "Get out of my way Muhammed, I've got to frisk that blonde!"

Er....link?

Southern border secured? Nope.

More than 15% of shipping containers searched? Nope.

But we all take our shoes off in the airport, so everything is gonna be fine.

Yep...

When we last traveled Internationally, we were moving and had the max amount of check in/carry on luggage with us. 8 HUGE bags each up to the max weight limit. We also had our two little kids. It was a nightmare, along with a bunch of other crap, they have me take off my belt and shoes as my two daughters are upset and one is crying. It was a mess. People were so ****ing annoyed that it was almost comical, like a bad movie. I just kept telling people to not be mad at us, be mad at Homeland Security and Bush for making me take off my belt and shoes, which was the source of all of holdup. Having to put my girl down..etc etc etc. I kept wanting to make comments like you just did Doc, but I was afraid that they would pull me aside and interrogate me and stuff. So I let it all go. Ahhh... it was worth it in the end.
