I know. We should be more like the ***** french or the rest of flacid europe an its weak will to take care of its own back yard. Nah, its much easier to whine about the big bad USA when you dont have yo put any of you countrymen's lives on the line.
Dont worry, we got this.
So when and where did you serve? Or are you simply a spectator commenting on the teams?
Funny thing, i can remember reading about whole battalions surrenduring to the germans in wwII....
I also find it funny how you dont like te US sending troops anywhwhere but call us cowards for bailing the allies out in wwii.
:lamo
Ya'll won WW2? :lamo
Ever hear of Lend-Lease? What about Dunkirk?
Yeah, ya'll won it alright.
The only thing the Americans have shown in fighting two unwinnable wars is that their bark is worse than their bite. Let's take a look at recent military history. I think you'll see an interesting trend: That of Americans getting their asses handed to them, while European nations quietly and successfully win their own wars without American help.
Suez Canal Crisis, 1956 -- British and French troops take the Suez Canal from Egypt and fight through the town of Suez to secure it in what was called the most effective amphibious assault since D-Day.
The Falklands War, 1982 -- Argentina swarms Las Malvinas with thousands of troops. Britain sends her Navy and the Royal Marines -- after a few months of intense fighting, the UK successfully reclaims the Falklands, and Argentina surrenders. Minimal UK casualties.
The Battle of Mogadishu, 1993 -- Americans go into Mogadishu due to internal unrest, 20 Delta Force and Rangers are killed, Pakistanis arrive to rescue the Americans. Impressive.
Northern Ireland Troubles, 1980s -- IRA causes mass unrest in Northern Ireland, Britain successfully puts down insurgency, and secures Northern Ireland, marking one of the most successful counterinsurgency operations to date.
Kosovo War, 1998 -- In the wake of the Yugoslav Wars, NATO and UN troops are deployed to Serbia to keep the peace between several uneasy factions. Two American jets are shot down, Americans lose control of Pristina International Airport to Russians, bomb the wrong targets.
Cote d'Ivoire, 2002 -- French Army successfully concludes the Ivorian Civil War against insurgent groups terrorising the population.
First Gulf War, 1990 -- 400 American deaths, list of American ****-ups:
1 Gulf War Illness
2 Effects of depleted uranium
3 Highway of Death
4 Bulldozer assault
5 Killing of unarmed Iraqi Soldiers
6 Coalition bombing of Iraq's civilian infrastructure
7 Abuse of coalition POWs
8 Operation Southern Watch
9 Gulf war sanctions
10 Draining of the Qurna Marshes
11 Gulf War oil spill
12 Kuwaiti oil fires
On the other hand, the French Foreign Legion accounted for the entirety of the left-flank of the drive through Iraq, and was commended by American General Schwarzkopf as "the most effective combat operation I'd ever seen".
Ugandan Genocide, 1994 -- French Army deploys to Uganda while the Americans refuse to go, and stop the genocide in its tracks.
Iraq War, 2003 -- American mishaps in leadership and effective counterinsurgency lead to 4000 American deaths. The British-controlled southern provinces of Iraq, at the capital of Basra, become the safest and most stable areas of the country.
Afghanistan War, 2001 -- American combat units repeatedly fail to destroy the massive drug trade in Afghanistan, lose 1500 soldiers, cause even greater insurgency. UK troops in Helmand province take the Taleban-held city of Lashkar Gah, once the most dangerous city in Afghanistan, and convert it into a Coalition-allied anti-drug powerhouse.
The European powers have been fighting and winning wars before your nation was formed. Let us do the fighting, you just throw money at the problems. It's safer for you.

The British Empire and the Soviet Union together accounted for 95% of German casualties, and the Soviet Union alone accounted for 75%. So, yes, I'd say we won it. There's really no debate. I can go on and on, show you all the facts, about how 80% of the German Wehrmacht fought on the Eastern Front, about how the Soviet Union lost 20 million people in a sacrifice to the world against fascism, while all the Americans did was throw money at the problem until it went away, as they always do.
But I'm inclined to think you've got your head so far up your arse there isn't enough light for you to read a history book, so I'm wasting my breath.
Most of that is a revised version of history.
Especially this,
I like this one, too,
You do realize that Foreign Legion like, 90% non-French, right? I think back then, it was still illegal for French citizens to join the Foreign Legion, but I could be wrong.
This is one of the UK's claims to fame, of late...:lamo

Actually, I fought for the French Foreign Legion from 1988-1993, and with the Royal Marines from 1993-2000.
Just thought I'd say.
So, what Russian units were in North Africa? The Pacific? Italy? Normandy? Face it, friend, ya'll were getting your asses handed to you, before we showed up to save the day. It's an indisputable fact that American are superior to any other nationality on earth.

So when and where did you serve?
Roughly 40% of the Foreign Legion is French, and all of the officers are. As well, that's not revised history, that what we call "non-propaganda-enfused history". Do some research. On any of them.
As well, you've posted a link to some British soldiers being captured by Iran. Shall I post to you a link of all the American soldiers captured by Iranians (like the entire Embassy, hehe?), Somalis, Iraqis, Saudis or Afghanis? What does it prove?
Cool. I always though the ffl would be cool, i went pmc instead for the money.....
Where you been? Where did you "fight for" the ffl?
Your politics Suck an ld your anti-americanism is a joke, but i'd have a beer with ya.
A majority of the legion being non-French is the only reason it's effective fighting force. Were that many Frenchmen in the legion during The Storm?
Alright, the last sentence has confirmed to me that you're just trolling. But I'll nibble. Not quite bite, but I'll nibble.
80% of all Axis casualties (not just Germans, not just European Theatre, but ALL Axis forces) were from the Eastern Front, where the only army opposing the Wehrmacht was the Red Army.
As well, the Soviets were in the Pacific, where they routed the Japanese Kwantung Army, which, I might add, accounted for 65% of all Japanese military personnel.
Furthermore, North Africa, Italy and Normandy were all majorty British or Commonwealth troops.
There's no disputing this, mate. The British Empire and the Soviet Union won the Second World War. Other countries contributed, and we honour them for their contribution. But they dare not take the credit, because it isn't deserved.
Most of the gas that Libya makes goes to Italy. So if anyone should be paying for higher gas it should be the ITALIANS' and not Americans'. But the whole media and greedy corporations have you convinced. That what affects someone else will affect us too. Even though we don't get anything from them. Kind of silly but I guess that is what greed does.
Where on earth do you people come from? I become more and more sure that this country of ours is doomed, because business sense sure seems to be fading.
Two things are driving up the price the oil, with the unrest in Libya which just happens to produce 47% of oil that comes from Africa, many are worried that should anything happen to those wells it would cause a shortage …. why you think that because they ship most of their gas and oil it to Italy. That if their wells were shut down, that Italy would just do without? Or might they be buying from someplace else?
Next, with India, and China increasing their demand for oil, that means demand for oil is up, and thus far, production hasn't exceeded demand, you are familiar with supply and demand aren't you ?
Now on to those greedy corporations, have you ever sat down and figured out anything? Let Me help … out of each barrel of oil, we get about 20 gallons of gas, and 10 gallons of diesel with prices now at or near 100 dollars a barrel, that puts material costs alone at about $3.33 a gal, add to that you have refining costs, storage costs, and costs to ship these products to retail outlets. Then the retail outlets have to make something on the sale of gas.
Now add to that the 18 cents per gal federal tax, plus an average of of about 25 cents per gal at the state level. Yet the average price of gas right now in the US is about $3.45... somehow I fail to see the greed of those evil corporations.
Been to Cote d'Ivoire, Rwanda, Djibouti, and French Guyana. Went other places with the Royal Marines, though.
Yeah, the money wasn't great, but it wasn't really about the money. It was about wanderlust, adventure, and a bit of an escape, and for that, the Legion was second to none. PMC, though, that's interesting. Which company? Where'd you go? And how was the pay, hehe?
Got to be ready to go in if the oil wells are threatened, right?
Wait, isn't Obama going to wait for a UN resolution for permission to use force? Where is the official declaration of war?

Ugh...
As far as company? I dont even mention the name due to not wanting to release too much personal info, but they are still the largest contractor to the us government today.
Pay? Nothing like it is today but it was good for a young single male..... I'd clear about 60 a year tax free...
Hehe, that's pretty good. I think the Legion's off-duty pay is like 11,000 Euros per year now. Which is actually alright considering the situation, where room and board is Legion-financed, and the only time you have to spend it is off-duty. But it's still no 60K.
Where'd ya go? Anywhere interesting?
