Actually no that judges ruling is violation of the constitution. another state cannot tell another state what to do. this is in the 10th amendment.

America would be a far better place (IMO) if Americans just stop caring about the first two (I.e. Equal rights for lesbians/gays and stop caring how much melanin is in others' skin) and stopped worrying so much about the last two.
The 14th amendment applies to states. A state can choose to not recognize any marriage, but if it chooses to recognize any marriage it must do so abiding by the 14th amendment. My state can't choose to ignore interracial marriages no matter how many times you scream about the 10th amendment.

When it comes to gays and SSM I think most of us want equal rights for all we just don't want the definition of marriage or as us Roman Catholics call it Holy Matrimony changed.
Actually it is. KY constitution sets marriage as a man and a women. if a couple go to VT and get married the judge says that KY has to acknowledge that marriage in violation of it's constitution.
that means that VT has power over the KY state and constitution. a judge ordered another state to violate it's own constitution based on the laws of another state.

Seems to me this has far-reaching implications. Gun laws, for instance. If I have a license to open-carry a gun in Texas, why is it not reciprocal in Illinois?
If one state allows polygamy, must all states recognize those marriages? Personally, I think this was a mistake.
