U.S. added to list of "backsliding" democracies for 1st time

Presidents are there for 8 years max. Kings stay for a lifetime. It's nice to have pencils with erasers, don't you think?
ineffective kings dont last for a lifetime

Practically speaking, I can't think of any. Are you thinking of assassination or hanging or something? So any time even one person doesn't like the king they can assassinate or hang them? And that would be considered a legitimate way to get rid of someone you personally think is ineffective? Any other options?
many kings are disposed

ineffective kings dont last for a lifetime

Sure they do. Most do. You ever read history? All they have to do is be willing to kill in large numbers. That is usually more than enough to do the trick.

OK, "TypicalRussian":

Ivan IV ‘the Terrible’ (1547–84)

"Prince Ivan Vassilyevitch grew up at the hazardous court of Moscow, his life often in danger from the rivalry of the boyars – nobles. It gave him a lifelong hatred of the nobility and a deep streak of ruthless cruelty – aged 13 he had one boyar eaten alive by dogs.

Ivan was Prince of Muscovy from 1533, and in 1547 he was crowned Tsar (Emperor) of all Russia – the first ruler to hold the title. He crushed the boyars, stealing their lands to give to his own followers; he also condemned millions of Russians to a permanent state of serfdom.

Ivan took a vast area of Russia as his personal domain patrolled by a mounted police force with carte blanche to arrest and execute as they liked. Distrusting the city of Novgorod he had it violently sacked and its inhabitants massacred, and he embarked on a disastrous and ultimately unsuccessful series of wars with Russia’s neighbours.

Ivan beat up his own pregnant daughter-in-law and killed his son in a fit of rage. His ruthlessness, paranoia and taste for blood earn him his place in this list."

Anyones. When only 58% of the voters think the votes will be honestly counted in 2022 and only 38% of Republicans so believe after the GOP has told them that if they do not win there had to be fraud, what would you call it. Add that to the voter suppression laws being passed and then gerrymandering, we have quickly become a back sliding democracy.
But the Democrats told us that 2020 was the most honest and fair election in the history of mankind

Zhu Houzhao

"Zhu Houzhao was only 14-years-old when he took the throne as emperor of the Ming Dynasty. His ministers hoped he would mature into the role, but that is not what happened. Houzhao's interests were reserved for women and brothels. He even converted a former zoo into his own personal brothel.

Houzhao invented an alter ego for himself who he ordered out on raiding parties to get out having to serve as emperor. Eventually, Houzhao died after getting drunk and falling off a boat during a fishing trip."

Emperor Qin Shi Huang

"Emperor Qin Shi Huang of China is credited with creating the first unified Chinese Empire. He did this, however, by dismantling China's education system and working his loyal subjects to the bone. He also had an odd habit of issuing nonsensical orders and speaking in opposites.

Huang didn't trust educated people. Not only did he burn books, but he also burned hundreds of scholars alive. He had a massive tomb constructed for himself which included 6,000 terra-cotta warriors and horses. Most of what he did in China fell apart a decade after his death, however."

You have to love the idiot left.

For 5 years they attempted to subvert the results of an election. During the election run-up, democrats knowingly fabricated material presented as 'evidence' to willing co-conspirators in the FBI who OPENLY admitted to a plan to prevent Trump from taking office, who then set about to sabotage his presidency and remove him from office when that failed, and all the while continued to promote and spread lie after lie after lie to both the media and the mindless retarded muppets that vote for the rat party...and who then fabricated not one but two completely made up impeachment arguments ALSO based solely on lies................and then they sit back and shriek "Democracy is backsliding....THANKS Trump!!!"

:ROFLMAO:

****ing hilarious.

^ A deranged post that is not standing up to the anti-democracy attitudes of this thread.

King Naser Al-Din Shah Qajar

"Shah Naser al-Din of Persia’s Qajar Dynasty ruled for over 50 years. Despite the length of his reign, he ended up with little to show for it. One of his few accomplishments was being the first modern Iranian monarch to visit Europe.

He attempted to get his people to accept Western reforms but never had full control of his people. Tribal and religious leaders carried more influence among the people of Iran than the monarchy did."

Well then tell Biden to "quickly" have the US un-become a backsliding democracy.

It said it started during 2019 and continues through today. Biden has been in office for 11 long months now.

If he can stop spending money (or giving away money) we don't have for 10 minutes, have him fix this BS.

Who the hell cares what Sweeden says anyway? We pulled them all out of 2 world wars for God's sake.
I'll tell Biden to teach you how to spell Sweden.

name a king?

King Herod the Great

King Herod the Great is the ruthless monarch who wanted to have baby Jesus killed. After ascending to power, he began to see Jesus as his biggest threat. The three wise men, Mary and Joseph were informed of Herod's intentions, however, and fled to safety. In response, Herod ordered the execution of all male children under the age of two in Bethlehem.

Herod killed his wife after suspecting her of adultery and then had her body preserved so he could continue performing depraved acts on it. After 37 years in power, he died of a disease that gave him worms.

Ummm, I hate to interrupt the rant. Obviously there is a lot of passion behind it, but.... Sweden was a neutral country in both world wars.

thats not a lot of detail

we have a shitty government

Let me help you. We were founded on one principle above all others: Do not put all the power in the hands of one person.

**** any efforts to destroy our democracy and make that happen.
