Turkish armed forces shot down a Syrian plane on Sunday which Turkey said had crossed into its air space in an area where Syrian rebels have been battling President Bashar al-Assad's forces for control of a border crossing.

"A Syrian plane violated our airspace," Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan told an election rally in northwest Turkey. "Our F-16s took off and hit this plane. Why? Because if you violate my airspace, our slap after this will be hard."

Syria condemned what it called a "blatant aggression" and said the jet was pursuing rebel fighters inside Syria. It said the pilot had managed to eject before the plane crashed.

Well now, Turkey has shot down a Syrian helicopter and now a Syrian Plane. Think anything will come from this? The Rebel/Terrorists keep retreating back into Turkey where Erdogran allows them to run for cover and hide out. Then when they can build up. They go back and try again. Should Turkey be held responsible for aiding and abetting Terrorists?

Seems like the Turkish PM is trying to move the topic off of his scandals. Shooting down a Syrian plane is a harmless way to do that.

While the killing will go on for a while, seems like the threat of toppling the Syrian government is over.

Perhaps we should rename the Arab spring, the Arab Winter. Many thousands killed for no result.

Mornin' WN. :2wave: That may be the case.....why keep supporting those who have lost. I thought they wanted the killing to stop. Bring that conflict to a end. Why keep supporting terrorists and be known for doing so.

Morning MMC. I don't think this was about supporting anyone/anything but the Turkish PM. Seems like the world does not care how many Syrians are killed. Sad really.

Not to mention Erdogan is real cocky over it too. Course something should be said to him about Assisting any MB and Terrorists.

I honestly didn't know a turkey could do much more than glide, let alone reach plane altitude.

We know the Syrian debacle is just more OIL/BigEnergy tyranny at our expense. Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, etc. are all about Big Energy at a MultiNational CORPORATE level and we taxpayers pay for wars (subsidize) so these MegaBehemoths can access more resources to profit from. I'm not liking that much.

Turkey has been co-operating with European governments in surveillance of potential jihadists going to Syria through Interpol and other agencies. We notify them of possible jihadists on the way and they stop them and send them back.

Of course, quite a few make it through.

What I'd really like is Turkey doing more to stop those who've been in training in jihadist camps in Syria from coming back to Europe.

Heya DF. :2wave: Well then they might want to wake up and start investing in money to go after resources on asteroids and other planets and the Moon. See if they weren't dicking around. We might have already had a Base on the moon.

Of course.....the US hasn't openly played Gangster and took whatever it wanted. As a matter of fact, we never come home with any treasure. But we do come home with Bills and debts for others. While we build their countries up and let ours go to pot, while lying to the American people telling us. its all good like. Whatever Country now has elections.....their Democratic.

Mornin IC. :2wave: Yes and they are suppose to be trying to stop terrorists from entering into Syria as well.....Moreover Erdogan knows there are MB Right there in Turkey assisting and partaking of the Conflict inside Syria. Yet he does nothing about it. I am sure it could be proven that he aided and abetted some of these Terrorists.

Do you think it should be put into the News and Print? That Turkey harbors Terrorists? Aids and abets Terrorists. Think that will get Erdogan's Attention? Do you think he understands that he really shouldn't be talking tuff at anytime over this Syrian Conflict? Does he know Turkeys place in the World? That people can put his Name into the News and on Twitter.....giving him more of a headache than he ever saw coming. In essence destroying him Publicly. Think he can handle any of that with todays new technology?

Many leaders harbour terrorists for a variety of reasons. Turkey tries to play on the grand stage and has to honour interpol agreements as well as play to his own audience. Erdogan walks a risky path.

Just how many questions can one man ask in one paragraph?

Well.....the one about him understanding how a public personality can be destroyed was all that mattered. I often even wonder if these guys overseas even have that clue.

The Black Sea area is an area that I will be avoiding for a while...
