In all probability, there were not 1 million feminists in DC. The National Park Service and a lot of police departments stopped giving crowd size estimates because they were accused of over counting and undercounting crowds. What is known in DC is that 500,000 people took the metro system. Some where tourists, some were DC residents going to work, shopping etc. and some were protesters. One conservative estimate placed the actual size of the feminist crowd at 250,000.

The references to Kiev or Cairo do not apply in Washington DC. The Egyptians had no experience in democracy and the Ukrainians had very little. As a result, the protests and the government counter reactions snowballed- then piraled way down hill.

The US, however, is a very mature democracy both populace wise and government wise. Very large numbers of people on the national mall peacefully protesting any president, or any other thing, are not a threat to national stability. Rather, such protests increase national stability as it demonstrates the presence of both a functioning democracy and the rule of law.
