Trump's speech to the UN

After reading the whole speech and taking it all into context it was a decent plea for nations to come together to isolate the regimes that threatens peace. Trump thanked China and Russia for voting with the Security Council to sanction NK. He numerous times reminded the UN that their goal is to keep rouge states like NK or Iran in check.

The only really stupid part was the Rocket Man sentence. If you take that out it reads like a speech the war hawk Clinton would of given had she been president.

um... hum, sure. I'm sure that's how the members of the UN took it too.

Yeah he spoke plainly and forcefully. Unlike the droner in chief ( speaking of teleprompters) who preceded him ,who talked endlessly and said nothing.

and as I said- whoever programmed that speech into Trump's teleprompter...{ loud ...rousing standing ovation} ....you shrunk liberal squishies to the size of raisins.

Maybe girlyboys like Colbert ,Olberman, and John Oliver can make you feel better with their 'scathing "jokes" tonight. LAFFFFFFF

You mistake "forceful" with dick measuring blather. If Trump thinks he accomplished anything with that speech other than getting his neanderthal base to foam at the mouth....he is more foolish than them.

What a crock!

Please explain to everyone how the world is more danger because Trump called things for what they are.

Because the ignorant and impulsive voters of this country elected a mentally ill narcissist to the most powerful position on earth. Someone with the mental instability and immature antics as Trump shouldn't get within miles of the nuclear codes. For the first time in my life I am sincerely concerned.

If you are so easily shook up then maybe you should avoid the news.

His speech didn't shake me up. It was typical teleprompter Trump...nothing new. Just the same pander to the base BS we hear from him all the time. The only concern I have is that small hands Donald is attempting to taunt another equally mental unstable Kim into a dick measuring contest and neither one of them is going to be happy with the results.

Yeah yeah yeah....small hands, orange hair. Typical bailout response for a lack of argument.

I'll bet the generals and civilians that are surrounding Trump know just a little bit more than a poster on some forum.

And yet.................I could have been Hillary.

Ya know......the fat assed wench who couldn't handle the simple task of providing the proper security for a makeshift embassy?

You don't know if Rocket Man is a threat or not, and nor do I.

You keep making threats.............................all bets are off.

The US will wait and see.

No we don't but you don't make policy based on the highly improbable. You don't - or you shouldn't - go to war with a country on a 1 in a million chance they might lob a nuke at you because mitigating the infinitesimally small risk of huge casualties isn't worth the certainty of large numbers of casualties. And of course there's the risk that we don't get them all and in trying to neutralize the risk we make it a certainty.

So no I don't know for sure what Kim will do. No one does. But it seems certain to me that - dick waving aside - the best course is to do exactly what we've been doing: contain him and work on China and Russia to do something about him.

Which, btw, I'm guessing is exactly what Trump was getting at with his speech. Scare China and Russia into getting off the stick.

We will see........It's been a strange sort of ride since the inauguration.

LAFFRIOT. you mean all the other liberal squsihies and the defective despots. Yeah I bet they hated it.

Oh if only we could back to the the days where President Ambien bored us all with his well enunciated substance free word salads.

Even if I accept that - I don't know enough about fallout to be able to confirm or deny what you state (though I will read up on it if I have a few minutes) - you haven't addressed my point that you're not going to get all the NK missile launchers.

You may, or may not, get all the launchers. And, in fact, no one is sure if any of them have mounted warheads. Of the 200 missiles deployed (short, mid, long range) it is believed that NK may have as few as 6 atomic bomb warheads, or 10, or 16. Naturally all 8 of NK's missile launh sites would have to be eliminated, as well as its two nuclear development sites. Whatever is left may or may not be able to scrounge up a warhead and spare missile. Even so, it would then have to penetrate THADD.

Sure, we might get our hair mussed a little, but 200K allied casualties, tops. On the other hand, North Korea would lose 10x that number, and be spent.

Im suggesting that your taking his words out of context.

I'm not sure how to take, "... we will totally destroy North Korea." out of context. Unless he was talking about they Olympics. Was he talking about some sporting event? Hold on, I'll check. Nope, he wasn't. He said we would totally destroy North Korea, and the context was one of military, and allies, and nuclear arms testing programs.

So economically, politically could also be ways to damage NK and bring about it's end. It doesn't just have to be military as some are taking his words to mean.

But he didn't say, "we will politically destroy ...", or "we will economically destroy ...". He said, "we will totally destroy North Korea".

Oh....how soon you forget. Trump knows more than all of the generals. He said so himself. Do you actually believe that?

yeah -it's called Mutually assured destruction. Look it up.
It's what's kept us OUT of nuclear war for 50 years.

Every so often the other Sh$theads need to be reminded of that.

Hilary....despite her obvious flaws....was still far more qualified and far more prepared to serve as President than the current Buffoon. Hilary was never my personal favorite choice but this one should have been a no-brainer...and sadly there are a lot of ignorant and ill-informed or maybe just foolish and stubborn voters in this country. They have put our country in a perilous situation.

Sadly.....all we get from Trump is small-handed/small-minded dick measuring challenges.
