Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!

I wonder if his bone spurs are acting up today.

lol

Our fallen heroes have not only written our history they have shaped our destiny. They saved the lives of the men and women with whom they served. They cared for their families more than anything in the world, they loved their families. They inspired their communities...

The heroes who rest in these hallowed fields, in cemeteries, battlefields, and burial grounds near and far are drawn the full tapestry of American life. They came from every generation from towering cities and wind swept prairies, from privilege and from poverty...

He's said worse. It's an eye roll, sure, but keep looking at the other things.

President Trump on Monday honored fallen U.S. service members and the families they left behind during a Memorial Day visit to Arlington National Cemetery.

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/389617-trump-honors-fallen-heroes-at-arlington-national-cemetery

"To every family member of the fallen, I want you to know that the legacy of those you’ve lost does not fade with time but grows only more powerful,” Trump said during a speech. “Their legacy does not, like a voice in the distance, become a faint echo but instead their legacy grows deeper.”

“Through their sacrifice, your loved ones have achieved something very special, immortality,” the president added.

Moments earlier, Trump laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Gen. Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

You believe he wrote those words, have missed every other Tweet he has put out? When it is about him and sounds like a 5th grader with a loose grasp of the English language then you know it is the Donald speaking.

All of which came afterwards. So evidently someone in the West Wing must have told him; "Hey Boss, you're looking like a self absorbed and self promoting asshole again. So you better fix it"

It's a striking difference, innit? Multi-syllable words, accurate grammar and poetic use of adjectives, any elementary school teacher would suspect little Donny had help with his homework.

IIRC the subsequent tweets are passages from his remarks @ Arlington. One of his aides sweeping up behind Grifter in Chief?

I was waiting for mention of 700 billion, one of the only numbers Trump can remember.

meanwhile

"We can never truly repay the debt we owe our fallen heroes, but we can remember them, honor their sacrifice, and affirm in our own lives those enduring ideals of justice, equality, and opportunity for which generations of Americans have given that last full measure of devotion."

~ Obama's Memorial Day tweet

Picking out one tweet as disgusting when everything the man does and says is disgusting is like pulling a bucket of water out to the ocean.

God Bless our Veterans! And God Bless American, AmeriCANs and preserve the Union and our Constitution. We need his blessings more now than we have since the Revolution the Civil War and the World Wars; we are in great peril.

Even the writers of those Tweets, and it surely was not Trump, offered up substantially shallow words.

On what basis does anyone make the claim that the veterans that died "they cared for their families more than anything in the world, they loved their families."? There is no logic to that statement; its a cliche. Wait, that repeating and insincere style.....that appears to be the one sentence actually authored by Trump....

Sorry to be hypercritical of the Don.... "his" other tweets are actually reasonably well authored (though obviously not by him) and well express the sediment many of us have today. I too stand in salute of those that died protecting American freedom. However, I fear the legacy of their sacrifice is currently in peril as not enough of us are working here at home to protect the freedoms for which blood has been shed. We, as a people, are watching and accepting the onslaught on the rule of law and fundamental institutions (such as the free press, the DoJ and the FBI, in particular) that have been pillars of our democracy.

Too coherent.

I don't think Trump actually wrote those.

So, just to be clear, where does he mention himself? Seems like he's just reiterating the things those who lost their lives defending America did it for.

I stated praising himself

Then you stated something that's not in the Tweet. Got any comments on the additional Tweets trixare4kids quoted?

Not relevant- anything to add that is relevant

I highly doubt that also. Probably penned by Trump speechwriter Stephen Miller. Duke University alumnus.

Incidentally, while at Duke Miller helped Duke Conservative Union co-member/white-supremacist Richard Spencer with fundraising and debate promotions.

Spencer coined the term 'alt-right'.

Nothing irritates me more than when somebody says "Happy Memorial Day."

Happy? Come on, man.

I thought the same thing. Glad I am not the only one -- for a while, I was thinking that perhaps I was being too sensitive. Just seems like it's a holiday to express gratitude and remembrance... not celebration.

the man has no honor, no decency, not moral compass to guide him, he just says things that come out of his twisted dishonorable brain.

NAH, I think I'm just going to let you wallow in your fetid cesspool of Trump hate.
