Trump's leadership likened to that of Cold War African dictators

You feel Trump cares about Congressional oversight or legal frameworks?
My 'feelings' are irrelevant.
I don't have the hubris to pretend to know if Trump cares about Congressional oversight or legal frameworks. Apparently you have the hubris to pretend to be a mind reader.

What I do know, and what has been shown by past behavior, which is that the left, Dems, Libs and Progs, hate Trump so much so they thwart everything that he would even try to do, to the point where if Trump said breathing air is good, they'd hold their breaths until they'd pass out.

What I also know is that the left, Dems, Libs and Progs constantly make baseless claims and accusations because of their hate of Trump, just have to look at the many accusations of Nazi, Hitler, Fascist, authoritarian, etc. etc. etc. to know that this is 100% correct. I attribute the many court challenges of this administration's actions to much the same thing.

This isn't saying that I agree with everything the man says or does, nor how he goes about doing them.

Weird that the first person to Godwin is a Trumpster.

Time for EVERYONE to forget about Godwin's Law because Godwin himself finally said that Trump has destroyed the entire concept by doing his best to resemble Hitler.

Remember when Mobuto brought Ali and Frazier to Zaire?

Unfortunately I am almost certain that one of my nephews, who is an accomplished up and coming MMA fighter, is probably hoping and dreaming of performing for our new King.
He IS an incredibly good fighter and a good kid all around but I know he does not pay much attention to issues like polly-ticks. It's the people who work with him, it's clear where they are in all of this and he's comfortable following their lead.
He's a good kid, but he listens to the right people for the fight biz and the wrong people on political issues.
Both his brothers are or were excellent fighters, but one of them busts his chops all the time on the political stuff and the other
sticks with his side instead, so there you are, he's stuck between the two of them.

The name changing comparison is interesting. Kind of a colonialism flip.

I have been contemplating some possible changes: America, Transamerica, Mexico, Transmexico.

Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of Transmexico, Gulf of America, Gulf of Transamerica.

Baja California can be renamed TransCalifornia

What´s wrong with you? Nobody ever talks about that. Renaming is a Mga thingy. You hate Trans people? Or are you just afraid of them?

"I’ve found it increasingly difficult not to see striking parallels between recent events in the US and the rise of cold war-era dictatorships in Africa. It began with Trump’s renaming of the Gulf of Mexico and Denali, which recalled how Mobutu Sese Seko, on a personal whim, changed Congo into Zaire in 1971. ...Trump’s deployment of national guard troops and marines to Los Angeles...also echoed Mobutu’s preferred method for dealing with civil unrest: presidential guards patrolling the streets to crush protests. The blunt use of military force to suppress domestic opposition is a tactic associated with figures such as Idi Amin in Uganda, Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe and Paul Biya in Cameroon...In Equatorial Guinea, President Francisco Macías Nguema outlawed the word “intellectual” and prosecuted academics. Amin terrorised universities to the point of brain-drain.

Trump’s aggressive deportation of undocumented Latino workers also resembles Amin’s 1972 expulsion of Uganda’s Asian minority. Amin framed it as a way to return economic power to “the ordinary Ugandan”, but it led to financial ruin. The embrace of bizarre, theatrical economic measures that look great on television but wreak havoc in practice is another striking parallel. Trump’s tariffs, announced with patriotic fanfare on “liberation day”, evoke Mugabe’s grandiose land reforms of the 1980s, which hastened Zimbabwe’s collapse.

...Anti-intellectualism, egomania and delusions of grandeur were hallmarks of dictatorships in Africa. Ivory Coast’s Félix Houphouët-Boigny built a replica of St Peter’s Basilica in his home town. Jean-Bédel Bokassa crowned himself “emperor” of Central African Republic. “Marshal” Mobutu ensured that Concorde could land in his native village. A similar extravaganza of ambition has reached the US, with Trump accepting a luxury Boeing 747 from Qatar and hoping his face will be carved into Mount Rushmore beside George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

...once the comparison between Trump and a cold war dictator is made, it becomes hard to unsee. And it shouldn’t surprise us. The postcolonial dictator was, to a significant degree, an American creation. Sooner or later, it had to come home."

The resemblance is startling.
By retards at the guardian who cares?

So Trump isn't literally Hitler?
Of course not.

Hitler was much brighter.

trump is and will always be a wannabe elite rich guy.

They’re never gonna let him in the club. But they’ll dangle it in front of him to get what they want.

He does know his base though. And he’ll feed their need to feel superior to somebody, anybody. He’ll torment the “other” and assert his Authoritah! any way someone on the left might be appalled by, so he can deliver an “own”.

From all accounts Hitler actually hired the best people. Best at being monsters, of course, but far superior to the clown car of incompetents he surrounds himself with.

So no. trump is not literally Hitler.
