There's no such thing as a free lunch, and by extension there's no such thing as a free holiday. Businesses don't really pay people for not working, they spread the cost across the rest of the year. With 260 weekdays, every new paid holiday is basically worth about 1/260 of your wages, whether it shows up as a smaller paycheck, slower raises, or higher prices. You're not getting something for nothing.
Businesses somehow still find a way to be profitable in Europe.
I get 5 weeks holiday and Im on the absolute minimum as I've just started a new job.
