Seen a couple of different arguments and curious which is most prevalent. Though you might agree with more than one, please choose the one you most agree with. I didn't make it multiple choice because it would be too easy to just click them all.

Poll on the way.

He wants blonde blue-eyed Scandiwegians, not brown people.

Forgetting the=at he's the descendant of a chain migration.

Re: Trump's "sh**hole" comment it offensive because...

The language was unbecoming of the office. Other than that, he's not the first guy in the oval office to be vulgar or disparage a person, people or nation. He just happens to be the guy who gets the most press when it comes to this kind of thing.

Like the Normaygians?

By being "the guy who gets the most press when it comes to this kind of thing" you mean his habit of using racist speech?

How is calling Haiti a ****hole racist?

President Trump set the tone for his tenure from the 2016 campaign. This story is just another of the seemingly constant stream of negative coverage that oozes out almost daily. Trump has brought this on himself. I do not think that this is the first time a sitting President has chosen vulgar language. The media coverage has changed drastically in a relatively short time. Add to the mix an historically unpopular President who is tone deaf, to be polite, and you have an adversarial relationship. I guess i could have picked “unprofessional”, but unpresidential is a higher standard.

Well, but he does it on a whole different league. And it's not just the language. It's the whole demeanor, attitude, and rhetoric. When was the last time a presidential candidate assured and encouraged his supporters that they can physically assault protestors at his rallies and he would cover their legal fees? He's like a freakin' Mafia crime boss, for cryin' out loud. I don't even think Nixon was this openly, unapologetically, and shockingly coarse, boorish, and unrefined. I recently had a chance to listen to his presidential campaign debates with JFK: incredibly polished, informed, poised, sophisticated. But open and proud ignorance, shocking levels of lack of sophistication, and just a proudly ugly mouth and a level of crassness and boorishness that is truly unprecedented in our nation's entire history. It's just unbelievable.

and I am shocked that there are still so many deplorables in this country who can not only stomach this level of ugliness and crassness in someone's personality, but keep cheering him on so enthusiastically. I'm embarrassed for them.

Trump should have just tossed their proposal into the trash, told them to get their asses out of his office and don't come back until they have something that meets his conditions.

But, of course, the butthurt Congressmen would just claim Trump called them all asses and the media would be outraged that Trump would treat respected Congressmen that way. And if there were any black Congressmen, the media story would change into Trump telling them to get their black and white asses out of his office.

Re: Trump's "sh**hole" comment it offensive because...

What about the answer "It is not offensive" as an option?

Where do you get that from?

Racist? Why? Just because you assume that people from those countries are black?

Is there ANYTHING then he could say or do that you might consider offensive? Even, maybe, stand on 5th ave and shoot random people?

And, somehow or other, referring to one's political opponents as "deplorables" is just fine. Hillary gets a pass but Trump doesn't. Groovy.

Sure. It's no contest. Deplorable vs. ****HOLE. I'll pick deplorable any day. It's an objectively true description. No other world fits.

Re: Trump's "sh**hole" comment it offensive because...

He was using it as a rationale to stop people from entering the U.S. That's the primary reason why it ought to be offensive.

Not at all what I wrote but I'll chalk it up to your posting history.

One of the disconnects is that some can think of a reason other than racism why someone might have that opinion and others can't.

Re: Trump's "sh**hole" comment it offensive because...

Not offensive at all. There are a lot of "**** hole" countries on the orb we call earth. We don't really need people from any of them coming here.

And how is ****hole an inaccurate description of Haiti?

Oh brother. Yes. He could say pretty much anything Obama said. Especially when Obama did his apology tour. But let's turn this around, is there anything Trump could say that you wouldn't call offensive?

I voted other because I would have checked most of the choices. You know I can't throw rocks at anyone's vulgar language. So in my case that radio button would never get my vote. Glass houses, parties and all that.

Trump's comments did not and do not surprise me. He has been a racist and he has been stupid for a long time. No surprise there. He is also unstable and unfit to hold office. I've been open about that.

Trump can't do wrong right. The damage he caused by his most recent dumbassery has yet to be tallied. If Washington can't pass a CR and the government shuts down it might well be because Trump shot DACA and immigration in the ass. A compromise was reportedly at hand. Trump suddenly went bat **** crazy, as Trump is known to do, and threw a monkey wrench into the works.

We are probably still assessing the domestic damage Trump's moronic remarks have done. The hate and violence prone members of Trump's base must certainly feel empowered.

We are assessing still the international damage Trump's comments have caused.

Re: Trump's "sh**hole" comment it offensive because...

And how is ****hole an inaccurate description of Haiti?

Because he is judging people based on the sociopolitical situation of where they are coming from.

****hole is an accurate description of Alabama too. But do you think we should judge all Alabamans just based on where they come from?
