Repubs and Dems were predictable, but Trump is bleeding support among Independents. That's bad.

I hate to pee on the parade here, but we need to accept this from the get-go: Trump's approval rating was always going to end up in the low 40s, possibly the high 30s. Even in this historically low polling range, he and his movement are still insulated to some degree. He has his base of support and that's all he cares about. They're only going to push harder for voter suppression and intimidation, and voter roll purges.

The economy has been the most important issue in almost every presidential election in how voters decided to vote. Trump is currently at 42.8% approval according to RCP averages. Averaging the most recent polls pretty much eliminates outliers and any biases the polls may have.

If one looks at Trump’s overall job approval, he is losing support from independents he once had. On 1 Feb 91% of republicans approved of the job Trump was doing, today that is at 91%. On 1 Feb 6% of democrats approved of the job Trump had done which is now at 4% today. Independents were at 48% overall job approval back on 1 Feb has dropped to 41% today and is continuing to fall. Basically because of the economy and inflation, rising prices.

Give it another month or two, Trump will be down to Biden levels on both his overall job performance, 39.0% and on Biden’s handling of the economy, 38.8%.

The problem as I see it, is that Trump today, Biden during his presidency and Trump in his first term have govern only for their base, not for all of America which turns off independents even though they voted for Trump and for Biden. Governing that way probably ensures we’ll have a string of one term presidents.

That shouldn’t be surprising with Trump’s erratic and unpredictable ‘emergency’ tariff policies. That, coupled with constantly falling predictions for the DOGE ‘fraud, waste and abuse’ spending cuts, is likely to keep the annual federal “budget” deficit (stimulus?) close to $2T.

He will start losing some supporters too. The economy is in shambles. He conned people into believing he would be good for the economy

Has been steadily dropping, still the only thing he’s above water on is immigration.

If Trump voters were actually objective and loved America first, Trump's approval would now be in the 20s, with congress actively talking about removal. Fortunately for Trump, he has a loyal cult following that thinks he can do no wrong, even when he does.

They’re about to get a well deserved, big fat ****ing dose of reality soon.

As well as those who thought it was a fantastic idea to stay home on Election Day.

I must say that I curse those people daily for not understanding the last election, thinking that is was just another tweedle-dum v. tweedle-dee election (that their vote did not matter).... Though they frustrate me, they frustrate me far less than Trump voters that refuse to see who Trump actually is. Yes, I despise ignorance and the ignorant..

I mean hopefully, HOPEFULLY, this wakes many of them up, of course if Harris had won, we wouldn’t know any better, we wouldn’t know the full depths of the lawlessness, corruption and depravity that characterizes these bastards in Trump and his administration.

But now we know, hopefully they understand the consequences of not voting if they didn’t before.
