It has been suggested that we should rename as many as 10 of our Legendary Military Bases, such as Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Fort Hood in Texas, Fort Benning in Georgia, etc. These Monumental and very Powerful Bases have become part of a Great American Heritage, and a history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom. The United States of America trained and deployed our HEROES on these Hallowed Grounds, and won two World Wars. Therefore, my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations...

There you have all of Trump's words, in context, and unedited. Clearly, he doesn't want to change the names of the military bases named for generals who fought against the United States.

At least none of them are named after Göring or Himmler or Tojo. None of them are named for Ho Chi Minh either, even though he, unlike the generals from the civil war and WWII, did win.

What do you make of the words "a history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom?" Trump is not clear, but appears to be saying that the confederate generals won something.

I'll put a suggestion in the White House suggestion box to re-name Camp David, 'Camp Doofus' just until next January anyway.

He clearly said that about the Army bases themselves, at least, according to what you posted.

Martin Luther King never looted Target stores in the name of liberating America from racism, should we rename everything named after him to honor the leaders of BLM instead?

No, that's not what he's saying. That's simply what you're trying to imply.

He clearly stated The United States of America trained and deployed our HEROES on these Hallowed Grounds, and won two World Wars, so he's obviously not speaking about the confederates.

wasn't camp david named after Ike's grandson, david?

Who was best to make these decisions were those in the military, the government sector and the public sector at the time. Unlike the current progressive-fascist Democratic Party:
THE ENEMY in the Civil War - the political party for slavery,
their war to try to create their own slave nation and killing more Americans than in any other war -
and the KKK, all lynchings and forced racial segregation
- overall responsible for over 90% of American war deaths
are exactly opposite from those who opposed slavery and everyone at the time. They wanted peace, reconciliation, and respected Confederate soldiers who answered the call to duty of their state - at a time with state government meant more than the federal government.
All the Democratic Party now wants is every possible social conflict, every possibly division, to tear down the United State as much as possible, curse Americans as much as possible all for endless racial and social hater mongers, murderous destruction and currently race war terrorism - warring against poor blacks and other poor people in white majority cities they control to use them to delivery to them even more wealth power for the already richest white men on earth.

The American president is extremely powerful as the commander-in-chief of the armed services but the office is so corrupted by political partisanship that it cannot be trusted to do the right thing. The naming of bases should be done by the military itself and rubber stamped by the Department of Defense. Military historians should form a committee and recommend names to generals and admirals.

Amazing that we have military bases named after traitors

The founding fathers were traitors,

Let's burn the whole place down!
The founding fathers were not traitors to our country. That is the stupidest statement ever

Rename them "Fort Trump One, "Fort Trump Two", etc. and you won't hear a peep.

I agree, that's likely what he meant.
It's too bad he doesn't have a better grasp on the English language, isn't it?

wasn't camp david named after Ike's grandson, david?

As a matter of fact, it was. I looked it up to see, and sure enough. It was named after his five year old grandson, not after any military leader, after King David from the Bible, or anyone else we'd be likely to know.

Rename them "Fort Trump One, "Fort Trump Two", etc. and you won't hear a peep.

Well, you won't hear a peep from Trump. I might peep a bit, along with anyone else not enamored of the current fraud in chief.

lefties keep getting dumber by the minute. Meanwhile...same lefties are voting for the guy who eulogized a founding member of a KKK chapter who they kept in office for 51 years until he died. If you guys are so upset about statues and names of military bases why are you continually voting for racists?

That was a fascinating non sequitur. Who are these "lefties" you're so concerned about? Are they here with us now?
