Trump will not deploy troops to Chicago to fight crime

The mayor just came out and said its working. But I get it, the TDS infected simply cannot ever allow for Trump to be right about anything.
Of course armed troops controlled by the President marching the streets of a large city is going to reduce crime.

Is this what you want for American cities?

Don't evade the question this time.

I want American cities to be safe. Why dont you?

I would prefer that local officials handle things but leftist morons have proven that they cant. SO if it takes troops to make people safe, then it takes troops to make people safe. Instead of constant whining, why dont you demand your side do their job?

As a Trump defender, you answered the question. Thank you.

Led by Trump, Republicans think we need armed troops marching our streets to keep people safe, then they blame the Democrats.

We have a serious problem. This is how Republicans think, and they are in charge. America will be done in by their own stupidity.

Its because democrats cannot bring crime under control that we are sending in troops. Hell there was a thread here the other day where libs were celebrating the fact that only 500 people were murdered in Chicago last year. 5 freaking hundred is cause for celebration, I guess. You libs have just come to accept criminality and Trump has not. Crime is down 50% since the NG showed up and only as TDS infected lib can see that as a bad thing.

Our President wants to glorify a rebel who fought the American government!

Robert E. Lee, and men like him, caused the deaths of approximately 750,000 Americans. and our current President wants to make him a hero!

The Independent reports, "A portrait of Confederate general Robert E Lee that includes a slave guiding his horse is set to be reinstated in the Pentagon.

"The 20-foot-tall painting, which was on display at the United States Military Academy for 70 years, will be hung in the West Point library under President Trump’s instruction despite a congressionally mandated commission that ordered its removal back in 2020."

66 of the 100 largest cities in the U.S. are run by Democrats, including the five largest cities in the country.

23 are controlled by Republicans.

It stands to reason that there is going to be more crime in Democratically-run cities.

It's very likely Trump has not deployed troops to Chicago because he knows the Posse Comitatus ruling by Judge Breyer would make a deployment to Chicago illegal. Likewise about federalizing the NG in any state to do urban law enforcement in any capacity. Indeed active duty troops at the southern border since 2018 are subject to the PCA while NG under the authority of state governors are not.
Excellent post. Should be read by all.

Funny thing, the only people talking about Trump sending troops to Chicago are the media and Democratic politicians in Illinois.

As Trump threatens more Guard troops in US cities, here's what the law allows

Try to find one responsible source that says Trump or the White house is sending troops to Chicago. You won't find one. Trump loves to issue threats. You won't even find a threat to send troops to Chicago.

I know counterfactuals get boring in the age of trump but:

Imagine if Biden had sent NG to red states. Same smirking wink wink about crime. Same concern trolling from his admin towards questions. Wow.
Biden refused to even send covid help to red states when they requested it during the pandemic... why would he have cared if people in cities in those states were shooting each other?

"A good start." He said...

NBC reports, "A federal judge in California on Tuesday ruled that the Trump administration violated a 19th-century law barring the use of soldiers for civilian law enforcement activities when it mobilized 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles in June.

"The evidence at trial established that Defendants systematically used armed soldiers (whose identity was often obscured by protective armor) and military vehicles to set up protective perimeters and traffic blockades, engage in crowd control, and otherwise demonstrate a military presence in and around Los Angeles," U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer in San Francisco said in a 52-page filing.

"In short, Defendants violated the Posse Comitatus Act," he said."

Trump intentionally speaks in terms that can be interpreted in different ways. The best way to understand Trump is to pay attention only to what he says, and not interpret what he did not say.

The media has a hard time understanding that simple concept.

Trump wants the media to add meaning to what he says. The media adds controversy to Trump's simple phrases. Trump loves it. There is built-in denial.

Take, for example, the simple phrase, "We're going in," as in “We’re going in. I didn’t say when. We’re going in,” Trump said.

The media interpreted that to mean Trump will deploy the national guard to Chicago.

Trump did not say that.

Politico reports, "President Donald Trump on Tuesday reiterated his administration was “going in” and would deploy the National Guard to Chicago — but did not specify when."

Trump did not mention the national guard during the Q and A today.

Politico explains their interpretation in this way. "Trump has for weeks indicated he was considering Chicago as a future location for his crackdown on crime. His definitive indication Tuesday he would deploy the National Guard is an escalation of past statements.

Politico then repeats "His definitive indication."

“We’re going in. I didn’t say when. We’re going in,” Trump said.

No mention of the national guard, but Trump wanted the media to think Guard. Trump is sending in the predominantly masked ICE cops.

"President Donald Trump on Tuesday signaled that he plans to deploy National Guard troops to Chicago."

The Post was unable to support that statement with a statement from Trump. Trump did not mention the national guard.

The Post adds, "The president did not provide details on how many troops would be deployed to Chicago, what states they would come from and when they would be sent. He also did not say whether his administration planned to solely send Guard troops or whether “going in” included dispatching agents from other federal law enforcement agencies."

That stands to reason.

NPR reports, "Trump's remarks about when and where to send the National Guard has been shifting.

"Speaking from the Oval Office on Wednesday, Trump said in Louisiana "we have a great [Republican] governor, Jeff Landry, who wants us to come in and straighten out a very nice section of this country that's become quite, you know, quite tough. Quite bad."

"We could straighten out Chicago — all they have to do is ask us."
"While crime and safety are perennial voter concerns, most voters surveyed opposed Trump's deployment of U.S. service members to the nation's capital city, where the rate of violent crime — mirroring a national trend — continues to decline.

Still Trump said, "I think we're pretty much waiting till we get asked."

Vance said just now there are no immediate plans to deploy the NG to Chicago.

Federalstapo goon LEO into Chicago yes, federalizing or deploying the NG, probably no. I think no NG into Chicago at all.

The Generalissimo earlier today mumbled about going into New Orleans on the sudden invitation today of the governor of Louisiana. Trump didn't say if that might mean only the NG, or the NG with federalstapo goons. This New Orleans thingy with the approval of the MAGA governor seems like a 'break glass in emergency' lunge by the GMO Trump to deflect from his fumbling and bumbling his long loved military takeover of Chicago that now looks off the table.

So yes, we can believe the ruling by the federal district court in San Francisco that the Generalissimo's federalization of the California NG into Los Angeles violated Posse Comitatus and is illegal punched the GMO in the gut about Chicago. Indeed, had the GMO done the same deployment of IL NG to Chicago, the state would have filed in federal district court in Chicago to get the same ruling there.

Five of the leading cities with the most crime are located in Republican-led states. Led by democrat mayors and councils.
… and sabotaged by republikkkan governors and state legislators.

Yes, after the Los Angeles NG deployment fiasco Trumpolini definitely looks to be backing off federalizing the NG of IL and sending 'em into Chicago.

It looks like Newsom, Pritzker and the federal district courts have body slammed the Generalissimo about using the National Guard against blue cities in blue states. Newsom and Pritzker objected with Pritzker going to DefCon 2 against any military occupation of Chicago by the Generalissimo.

Indeed, each the GMO Trump and his Oberkommando Miller stepped on a rake about deploying 700 active duty Marines to LA. The WH said flat out about Chicago that there were no plans to deploy active duty troops into the city. The Marine Corps read the riot act to both of 'em not to deploy active duty Marines to cities again. That's yet another frontal kick to Trump and Miller about their LA active duty Marines fiasco -- and not to try it again elsewhere.

“We’re going in. I didn’t say when. We’re going in,” Trump said.
That's the last word on the subject from Trump concerning Chicago.

He is such a predictable fool.

And a consistent liar

Unfortunately, the media hasn't learned that yet. The media believes every word from Trump and no retractions. Just yesterday's news with no apologies to the reader.

The hyperpartisanship in your post is disgusting and anti-American. Kudos.

Illinois Gov. Pritzker has an army of lawyers and judges ready to file/hear lawsuits should Trump order the US military to invade Chicago.

Pritzker said he would welcome federal help - the FBI, ATF, DEA, etc - but not federalized military troops.

Trump has moved on. Now he is going to invade Venezuela.

He says. That might change today.
We have a President who creates chaos in government. His Republican base is unable to defend him.

There are countless examples. Here is one.

Trump is responsible for Kennedy being our HHS secretary.
