Trump warns 'any' protesters at military parade will be 'met with heavy force'

I'm just looking at the weather forecast for DC on the 14th.

40% chance of rain, with thunderstorm and flash flood watches.

Here's hoping.

The long word is 21st Century Uniquely American Fascism.

Gen. Milley said 5-6 years ago, Trump is "fascist to his core." Even then too many liberals and independents were out to lunch. Just recently got back I'm afraid. Third party voters who have long hated and despised the two party system are having their day at long last.

There's not many areas where Trump shines. But being able to manufacture drama and spinning headlines are among the few places where he's a genius.

Yep.

The parade start time is changed to 6:30 pm from 4:30 p. For those familiar with Washington's crazy weather 4p is the time for the almost daily electrical storm and wild downpour that floods a lot of roads.

The parade route has been reduced too to something like 4 blocks starting at the Lincoln Memorial instead of 4 hours starting at the Pentagon north parking lot across the Potomac. All the armored vehicles and marching troops will be staged behind and below the Memorial on a narrow 2-lane way right at the Potomac where there's no shelter due to a vast open area on the east DC side of the river. These marchers will be in position by 4p or 4:30.

So let's hope the Storm God is as pissed off as the rest of us are. The only thing members of the military hate more than parades is civil disorder duty.
 
I haven't watched this today, don't have the time, but it relates to what is happening in the US in 2025. For those interested.

You obviously haven't dealt with losers like Trump.

Ignoring them is a basic component of a behavioral extinction program... when one is as dumb as Trump, and as lazy and known to TACO, it's super easy and effective.

Trump has the powers and authority of the president of the United States and Trump is the Commander in Chief of the massively lethal armed forces. This "basic component of a behavioral extinction program" is absurd and ridiculous. Trump is insane and this "program" would only make him desperately mad. I have no more to say to you about this so thx for the memories.

A huge lightning bolt electrified the Washington Monument around 12:30 a.m., the National Park Service (NPS) announced. Nobody was hurt in the incident, but the unusually strong bolt damaged parts of the electronic access system that workers use to operate the landmark’s doors and elevators. NPS spokesperson Mike Litterst said crews were waiting for parts to be delivered before they could move forward with repairs.


While yours truly was in Washington I with friends twice climbed the 898 steps to the top, on two different occasions. That's 555 feet straight up. Then went back down 'em again. Years later the NPS closed the steps to being tackled by the general public. Too many of the general public needed rescuing up along the stairway. (Had to be taken to McDonalds for resuscitation ha.) Stones along the stairway include those engraved with images and text of great moments in the nation's history, which is artwork precious few people ever see any more.



The current weather forecast I see for DC tomorrow is rain in the morning but a 48% chance of rain at the parade step off time of 6.

Intermittent storms of rain and thunder and stuff. In other words, a very familiar summer weather day in the nation's capital. This may affect attendance by the public. Umbrellas are allowed but not those with metal tips.

Army says the parade will march regardless of the weather. The exception is lightning given the metal vehicles and their protruding gun barrels, hand held and static flagstaffs and the electrical setup of the review platform and physical staging. Any flyover in a rainstorm or simply in low hanging clouds isn't going to work either.

I mean, who'd want to see Trump struck by lightning. 🌩️⛈️⚡
