Trump wants NATO countries to spend more money to defend themselves against Russia, for whom he wants to lift sanctions (1 Viewer)

Trump says so much shit, what are we referring to? He say something more recent concerning NATO?
 
An important distinction. Trump doesn't want them to spend more of their money to defend against Russia rather Trump doesn't want to spend USA money to defend Euorpe. Rightfully so. Euorpe needs to start wearing big-boy pants start being responsible for managing its own coexistence with it neighboring countries. Some of that can be defense spending but also political and economic negotiations can also be part of the picture.

So should Israel in that case. In 2023, Ukraine, Israel, Jordan and Egypt topped the list of nearly 180 countries receiving funds from the U.S.

Unfortunately I don't think there's a route to expel a member nation but exclusion is an option.
The last thing NATO needs is a seat at the table occupied by Trumps attitude.

Oh, "updated" article from a while back but it will have value to discuss going forward.

At this point I am sure it is clear to all of Europe that Trump is pro-Russia, does not want anything to do with who used to be core allies of this nation, and largely is surrendering influence to whoever. That said Russia is in no position to do much else to anyone else for now, they've spent too much just to largely stalemate in Ukraine.

No, in fact, he has a grudge against the EU. He feels it unnecessarily delayed the building of his golf course in Ireland.

And dmpi is right. The EU has to grow up; stop wasting money on useless climate change programs; spend more money on defense; and work with NATO counties to create a unified defense against the most dictatorial and aggressive country in the world on par with China.
