President Donald Trump suggested that a recent swoon in U.S. stock markets is a buying opportunity for investors, even though many analysts blame his policies and Washington gridlock for the plunge.

“We have companies -- the greatest in the world, and they’re doing really well,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Tuesday. “They have record kinds of numbers. So I think it’s a tremendous opportunity to buy. Really a great opportunity to buy.”

For the moment, the economic panic has subsided. A cleansing has definitely occurred. Good, bad or otherwise, fairly predictable. Those who were over extended took a bath. It may still get worse, and it could get better.

The amount of studied dishonesty in these kinds of posts is simply amazing. The person making it doesn't go much beyond a two factor analysis, which isn't an analysis. Namely, first determine the
name next to the President, then determine the letter next to the name.

D President + Good economy ---> Republicans responsible.
D President + Bad Economy ---> Democrats responsible.
R President + Good economy ---> Republicans responsible.
R President + Bad Economy ---> Democrats responsible.

Same thing with deficits, even though they improved into surplus when Clinton was in office, and went from 1.4 trillion to 400ish billion while Obama was in office. Whereas they went from a surplus to 400 billionish under Bush, and have now gone from 400 billionish to 1 trillion+ in an otherwise still good economy (and economy which slowed down a bit once Trump took over, in reality).

So now, when a recession hits, our revenues will crash, quite possibly bringing the deficit over 2 trillion and leaving us increasingly unable to deal with future emergencies.
