President Donald Trump will rename the Department of Defense to the "Department of War," the Washington Examiner confirmed.

Trump will sign an executive order renaming the Pentagon on Friday, restoring the department's name from the 18th century.

The executive order will also grant Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth the title of "secretary of war."

It's time for the 25th Amendment.

Good news; Traitor Trump doesn’t have the authority to rename the Department of Defense.

Only Congress has that authority.

Bad news; the MAGAt majority House and Senate will certainly bow to Traitor Trump’s demand and go forward with the renaming, which will be just another waste of taxpayers dollars.

Future good and bad news; Dems, once they regain control of the federal government will almost certainly change the name back to Department of Defense (), but at additional cost of taxpayers dollars ().

Btw, the Washington Examiner article has the headline with the word "Pentagon". No one is "lying". Perhaps it was an attempt to keep the title a tad shorter or to avoid a title with the same word ("Department") used twice. Or it could be the title writer made a mistake.

The problem with this is that Trump and his bleach drinkers don't understand the history behind the Defense Department.

We did not rename the "Department of War" to the "Department of Defense". We combined the Department of War with the Department of the Navy to create a unified Department, as we found during World War II that two separate agencies frequently struggled to coordinate their efforts. The Department of War became the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force (which spun off the Army).

The current Department of Defense is comprised of three departments. The Department of the Army, the Department of the Navy (Which includes the Marine Corps), and the Department of the Air Force (which includes the Space Force)
