Mebe you're trying to explain the 'goodness' of an unfunded governmental liability? That the SSA isn't bad just 'cause there's no way to sustain the program in its current form with the 'lessening base of contributors' to the SSA fund to finance the ever increasing retirees in America?except it is not a secret scheme that is not profitable. Most people get far more out than they pay in...with the exception of those who die before they can collect...and even then their spouse or children under age can collect...so, the same holds true.
Side note: In my state, the Democratic Party is lying when they accuse their political opponent running for Senate of trying to abolish the SSA when the political opponent is SSA is trying to reform the SSA and help re-fund the unfunded liability.
2nd side note: That same state political party is lying about the same political opponent running for Senate when they say the opponent wants to stop healthcare for persons with pre-existing conditions when the opponent just wants to eliminate the 'Edsel' of healthcare, the ACA, and never, once, said they wanted to eliminate healthcare for persons with pre-existing conditions.
Super side note: Well, I don't think California is all that great of a deal with all its unfunded (and perpetual) liabilities. I mean, I'm glad I live in a state (other than California) that didn't have regular rolling electrical blackouts 'cause the state was fearful of using carbon-based fuel even though there is currently no reliable renewable fuel. I mean, as an analogy, you can't start wearing those small-waisted jeans 'cause you want to lose weight, You first have to lose weight and be able to fit into the small-waisted jeans before you buy the small-waisted jeans.
I'm glad I live in a state (other than California) that has enough money to manage the forests and have enough equipment to prevent huge amounts of wildfires. But California doesn't have enough money (and socialists will never have enough money for all their projects).
