Trump to be indicted on multiple counts.

Section 793(e) only punishes a defendant who unlawfully retains NDI “willfully.” Willful retention is not accidental, negligent, or reckless. Rather, a defendant only retains NDI willfully if he or she knows he or she possesses it and knows that such possession is prohibited due to the nature of the information.

10 years....and its under the Espionage Act.

I may be mistaken, but I believe a person charged under the Espionage act cannot hold political office.

You have to love the fact he can rarely avoid not mentioning some overblown statement about himself regardless of what is happening....

"I can't believe that this race of space aliens has destroyed the golf course of the BEST golfer and real estate tycoon; everyone says that I am the best....everyone says this, it's true. That these illegal space SAVAGES have ASSAULTED the Home of the former PRESIDENT OF THE USA, a man who made this country great, and got more votes than any other president....even Lincoln, is a disgrace. I know for a fact, they are funded by anti-America SOROS and far left RADICALS"

Now all Jack has to do is prove it... to a jury or a judge? I suppose they'll go for a jury.

Yeah, I'm guessing the lawyers have met and it's just about getting the paperwork in order and setting a court/arrest date.
He's been ordered to appear in Federal court next Tuesday. He's been officially indicted. AGAIN

These are not weak charges, either. Espionage Act violations are some serious shit. 7 of these? He's literally looking at spending his remaining years on earth in prison.

and the feds don't play....you serve your time...every single day of it.

Curious to see if there's a plea bargain that gets offered that would involve minimal time in a country club prison with furloughs. Everything I've read/heard about Jack Smith is that he's a by-the-book guy and will not give two shits that Trump is running for re-election or that he's a former president. He wouldn't be racking up the charges against him now if he did.

Will be interested to see what this does to his support in the polls. I won't make any predictions, but I can't help but think at least some of his base concludes he's a doomed candidate and maybe they get behind DeSantis. Maybe Ted Cruz joins the race late.

He's not going to prison.

The Trump story so far:

-Housing discrimination back in the day
-Trump U shut down for being crooked
-Trump Foundation shut down for being crooked
-Refused to believe he lost the popular vote in 2016, put us through a useless review
-Refused to admit he lost in 2020, put us through Jan 6
-Indicted for the hush money thing
-Credibly accused of molesting women after bragging about molesting women
-New York case pending
-Georgia case pending
-Now apparently indicted for taking secret documents, apparently having lied about and refused to return them
Along the way, he insulted women, illegal immigrants, legal immigrants, refugees, the media and many others.

One must ask, paraphrasing the Coasters and Charlie Brown, “why is everybody always pickin’ on thee?” Answer from the Jets in West Side Story, “Deep down inside him he’s no good!”

But for real hilarity, check out how Fox News is covering this.

The news is just breaking now on tv.

All the idiot Trump had to do was return the boxes. That's all. If he had performed that one simple action, then all would have been forgiven and none of this would be happening.

But Trump is such a mentally ill narcissist that he couldn't even do that.

He's not going to prison.

He might. They would have to work out his security, but other political figures go to prison. Don't believe the nonsense about his being a former president and his needing secret service detail. Nothing in the Constitution guarantees a former president secret service protection. The Bureau of Prisons will see to it that he gets special considerations if he's incarcerated.

The big question is whether he gets convicted at all, or whether there's a hung jury or an acquittal. The latter seems unlikely but a hung jury? I could see that.
