US president’s early inaction in pandemic has come under renewed scrutiny in recent days as coronavirus death toll grows

Donald Trump hunted for a new scapegoat on Tuesday in an increasingly frantic attempt to shift blame for thousands of American deaths from the coronavirus, accusing the World Health Organization (WHO) of having “called it wrong” and being “China-centric”.

The US president contradicted himself within minutes, first vowing to put “a very powerful hold” on his government’s funding of the WHO, then insisting such a freeze was only under consideration.

Why should the US fund the WHO when they place Chinese interests over actual global health? It's a waste of taxpayer money to fund the WHO in it's current form.

I'm not clear on what support we gain from the WHO & whether or not they are apolitical.

South Korea Japan and Singapore had the same WHO information the US did. They responded to it early and at least in SK created a testing kit that worked early and overal did a good job. The WHO is not responsible for the US or Europe’s poor response to the virus. Not when other countries with the same info did a very good job

South Korea banned travel from China on Feb. 4th. The W.H.O. was still advising against travel bans on at least Feb. 29th.

I was thinking there might have been specific treatment guidelines or something. Banning travel probably helped some, but in reality the cat was already out of the bag world wide.

One would think, what with John Lennon's fame and fortune, he could have done much better than that ugly skank. She rode him like an 80 dollar mule. If not for him, she would have been totally insignificant and we wouldn't even know her name. She is still riding on Lennon's coat tails. She's famous for being famous and I've seen better art in the local middle school. Her musical abilities have rightfully been described as fingernails on a chalkboard. But she could crap on a paper plate and the artsy-fartsy whackos would pay for it. I would rather own a George W. Bush painting.
