Clear that Trump learned a new word from the UK AmbassadorWASHINGTON — President Trump on Sunday weighed in on the friction between a group of four freshman Democratic congresswomen and Speaker Nancy Pelosi: He suggested that the congresswomen — none of whom are white — should “go back and help fix” the countries they came from. His message was immediately seized upon by Democrats, who called it a racist trope.
“So interesting to see ‘Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run,” Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter.

Ah, Sunday morning race baiting from the peanut gallery.
As expected, the board's Trumpists are defending the blatant racism of telling four American citizens with non-white skin to go back to their countries.
That was the point: get people to call it racist, and the base will fetishize the chance to accuse the left of "playing the race card"; aka, the point was to play "the 'race card' card".
There's a reason they got so mad at "deplorables" and it wasn't because it was slander.
The presidency is hardly the peanut gallery.
His tweet isn't racist but it is stupid, I'll say that much. The president really should have professional staff manage his social media accounts.
Nonetheless I'll take a stupid tweet over the vastly more stupid tweets coming from AOC and her ilk because in their cases they are also proposing idiotic policies and rhetorical extremism on things ranging from abolishing ICE or calling detention centers for those needing detention due to illegally crossing the border "concentration camps."
Trump uses his twitter account to 'trigger' radical progressives....He's very successful at it...
Apparently, the Democratic infighting was drawing too much attention away from himself. So he decided to say something stupid to get back in the news cycle. The fact that his comments had no connection to reality is besides the point. The fact that it's a clear racist dog whistle is almost besides the point. The point is, HE's the real contrast to AOC et al. not Pelosi. Now he can lump Pelosi, the Democratic Party and AOC together as un-American (and of course un-white to those who are ready to hear that). That three were born in the US is icing on the cake but it really misses the point, which is that "go back to where you came from" is a White Nationalist refrain meant to alienate, belittle and delegitimize American citizens of non-European descent.
The "go back to Africa" of my parents' generation is back.

So you're calling Trump an online troll? And you're a supporter?Trump uses his twitter account to 'trigger' radical progressives....He's very successful at it...
Then why did he aim it at only four American citizen-representatives who happen to have non-white skin?
Why didn't he aim it at everyone who takes issue with the way he treats illegals as compared to past presidents?
PS: the "it isn't what you say, but it's stupid" isn't a convincing defense when you still support the sentiment. It's as transparent as anything can be. Yes, it was racist. Yes, you know it. And the only reason you won't say it is you don't want to be seen to in some way undermine the far right's (I notice you changed your lean) claim that there is no racism outside of the literal KKK and that everything else is just liberals playing the race card; on the other hand, you want to try to retain the appearance of credibility, so you reach for some negative sounding word - stupid - and apply it to what Trump said.
That way you can embrace the sentiment, appear to criticize it, and further support the dishonest theme aimed at the left (of "race card" playing).
Would you vote for my neighbor's five year old if he ran in the next election? Sounds like it. You actually feel proud of a politician who has spent the bulk of his time in office trying to troll your political enemies.

And you're proud of that.
Unbelievable. Your political enemies are squabbling, and you give them something to agree on. I would thank him if it wasn't such a repugnant comment. I wonder if Cruz and Rubio will say anything critical of the statement.
