Yesterday there were 3528 new covid-19 deaths and on 10 of the last 16 days, there have been more deaths per day than at the highest previous point in April 23rd when 2428 deaths occurred.

Trump stated back in April (and many times since then) that this pandemic was going to go away. That by "summer" it would be gone. It is now December and the virus is raging here in the U.S. in a more fierce way that ever before.

Trump supporters have vehemently supported Trump throughout this pandemic, saying he did his best, he couldn't have done more, he approached the virus better than anyone else in the world, the amount of deaths have not been his fault, etc.

and yet and compared to all other nations, especially China where the virus started, the U.S. has been the absolute worst as far as controlling and preventing deaths from occurring.

So my question is simple. Trump supporters are you now ready to admit you were wrong about Trump?

There are nearly ten thousand deaths in this country every day in the normal course of things.

Those of us who were not hysterical in April are for the most part still not hysterical.

These deaths could have been prevented if we had a president who knew what he was doing back in February. Your explanation has no merit.

Hell no. Trump's retarded supporters will continue to defend the indefensible.

Another Trump excuser?

You should get your numbers straight. The normal amount of deaths per day in the U.S. prior to the virus was around 3800 and now it is about double that amount and there have been quite a few days where the number has been as much as 3+ times more with Covid. As such, your post is ridiculous.

Trump was wrong about the virus going away, what's your point?
The reason that covid is raging is because of a mutation of the spike protein which is making it far more contagious and coupled with the cold weather and people being inside, there are more infections, hence more cases, hospitalizations and deaths.

Anything else you need explained?

We're the third largest country in the world population wise.

Of course we will have bigger numbers.

The scientific community was wrong numerous times. Hell, Fauci once said we don't need masks.

Trump was wrong (a fact) but that was not the reason for the OP. The reason for the OP is to ask Trump supporters that defended him in his approach to the virus (he did what he could, he was better than other presidents, etc) if they now admit they were wrong in defending him, given that it has now been proven that his response to the virus was about the worst of any other country.

This OP is not about Trump but about Trump supporters, you included. Answer the question "do you now admit you were wrong in defending him"?

The numbers per capita are the worst..........not only because we have a large population but percentage-wise.

We already know that Trump supporters are irrational and totally disconnected from reality. Do you expect a rational fact-based answer? I know I've given up.

Our overall covid death rate is terrible and our per capita death numbers are also terrible compared to other countries. Currently #13 out of 50 countries.

And, IMO, what will be really stunning will be the numbers showing the percent increase in overall deaths starting in March 2020 compared to previous years. I personally think covid deaths are being undercounted.

no they really couldn't, at least not all of them. some of them might have been prevented if better measures were taken or information given... hard to say, but even with a vaccine we cannot prevent 20-60,000 flu deaths every year much less covid without one.
so no the majority of deaths could not have been prevented, except by people themselves.

Apparently facts don't matter to you. For example, Governors have much more control than the federal government.

Your own chart proves you wrong. USA is 10th in deaths per million and that's including Cuomo's blunder in April.

If you believe China's reported numbers, I have a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in buying.

So my question is simple. Trump supporters are you now ready to admit you were wrong about Trump?
When are you going to admit you were wrong in attacking Trump?

Pathetic.
If you mean OP, I agree.

We're the third largest country in the world population wise. Of course we will have bigger numbers.
We also have a higher at risk proportion and idiot Governor's who forcibly expose them. But, we also spearheaded the development of the vaccine two years early.

Thank you for confirming your innumeracy.
What a rotten response to my post. I was simply stating that the amount of daily deaths prior to the pandemic was X and the amount of daily deaths after the pandemic started was X+.

Nonetheless, your comment suggests that my mathematics is erroneous. Let me say that the number of deaths per day previous to the pandemic is an established number (many, many years) and the number of the daily deaths seen now is greater, simply showing that a lot of people are dying from Covid-19 and not from normal causes, which is what the poster I was addressing the comment to was suggesting. As such, your comment is the opposite of what an erudite person would say.

Your post indicated that you are unable either to read or to perform basic division. Either way a more detailed response did not seem warranted.

The death rate has increased by ~10%. Some of these are deaths of despair, but I'll grant that most are probably COVID.

There are still nearly 10,000 deaths every day plus covid. Don't have the numbers but I'll bet you dollars to donuts that a lot of the people that weren't hysterical in April are not hysterical now because they are dead, from covid.

Not hysterical apparently means NUMB in this context.

10% hahaha

The link I gave showed 100-200% increase. In addition, this morning on the news there were stating figures where they stated more than double. 10% is hilariously incorrect.

I'm not a Trump supporter but I'm still waiting on hearing what any president could have done differently within the scope of his powers. It usually comes down to orange man bad and frothing without any real knowledge or ideas.

That definitely makes it easier to stomach all the American deaths during a pandemic.

There is a Twitter # of all the people who have died and their family members who are talking about them. You should post your comment there. I can give you the # if you want.
