How do you imagine him - the ultimate crony capitalist, the man as arrogant as he is ignorant, oblivious of Constitution and individual rights, incapable of understanding even the simplest issues at hand - doing a systemic reform of our whole democratic system (if I understand at all what you are talking about)? OK, he could shout puerile insults at the Congress and the Supreme Court. Then what?

It's ironic that you claim he doesn't understand the issues at hand when he's said he would target the biggest cause of government waste: baseline Budgeting.

I'm not a trump voter so I didn't vote.

How can anyone say "Trade/Jobs/Economy"?

This guy would have made more money if he dumped his inheritance into a broad index fund w/ some bonds and int'l stock in the mix. The usual course after making a deal with Trump is that he gets richer, you go broke, and banks swoop in to stop him from going broke

He's as big a liar as Hillary at the very least, a bigotted xenophobe, and a swindler. His only appeal is that he is "anti-establishment", but voting for him to stick it to the "establishment" is dumber than cutting of your nose to spite your face.

And he is going to take a hatchet to military spending, which is a good thing because there is no way that the Pentagon is going to get anything close to what they have planned to buy over the next decade, there is not enough money to do it. We are going to buy, but for the first time in a long time we are going to try to buy smart. For instance that means that the F-35 is toast if Trump gets his way.

That's the guy I want on my side, I am no dummy. Let the Chinese take the loses for a change.

This one isn't on the list of poll choices but is probably my most cherished: Interpreting The Constitution like a literalist. No more of this what's fair garbage 'interpretations' of The Constitution. Adjudications should be made with a firm footing in The Constitution.

Cruz, the 'constitutional lawyer' thinks he is eligible to be president even though he wasn't born in the US of US parents. Cruz also thinks anyone born in the US is a citizen of the US. What will Cruz think when SCOTUS decries the second amendment only applies to militias and our personal gun rights are taken away?

Faulty adjudications have all but made it impossible for government to have any control over immigration, for example. Trump has advisers with great grasps of The Constitution. One must cut through all the gridlock caused by ideology and incorrect laws made from incorrect usage of The Constitution. Trump is that guy. Is the only guy.

He will do whatever it takes to benefit himself. 'The Deal' is what makes the Donald more money. The Donald doesn't even have a passing knowledge of what 'truth' is. He lies about everything, tells a story he wants you to believe and then when confronted with facts claims 'hundreds' of real Americans call him and confirm his story.

Let's not forget Congress- the rabid right curses the mere mention of compromise. No matter who gets the Oval Office unless Congress wants to quit blocking compromise there is really no point... :peace

And Hillary hasn't been doing whatever it takes to benefit herself??? cmon that's all she has done.

And yet reports show that democrats are leaving the party to vote for Trump and that he is winning 'open' primaries where registered dems can vote for him.

So here is your first attempt to ahhh pass BS off for facts, I showed an article that shows trump's lie, repeated by Trumpers

"Trump's specific focus was on illegal immigrants coming across the nation's border. The idea of doing more to secure the country's borders to prevent illegal immigrants is something most Americans will agree with -- perhaps because it's hard to disagree with a proposal to do more to stop something that is illegal. Last year we found that 77% of Americans said it was "extremely" or "very important" than the government take steps to control U.S. borders to halt the flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S., with 43% saying it was extremely important. Other Gallup research conducted in the last couple of years showed that more than eight in 10 favored new laws that would tighten security at U.S. borders."
American Public Opinion and Immigration
Add in the improperly vetted refugee problem...

Here is where you lump immigration with securing the border... and that survey was a rather out of norm result... Better known polls, which I cite show how low these concerns are...

Ya don't lie, ya just don't much care for the truth, sorta like that Orange guy... :peace

I am just curious, what is Trumps plan to fix jobs?

Easy! Trump's gonna create them! It doesn't matter that he never gives any details of exactly what he's going to do, 'cause, you know, that'd be giving away his double-secret probation plan...but he's gonna create them, 'cause that's what he says he's gonna do!

Well, now, I didn't say that everyone who supports Trump is a dummy......what I mainly criticize in that regard is voting for him simply because he's "anti-establishment" no matter what his policies, because I happen to think his policies are a lot more bad than they are good.

If you support him for other reasons, I probably disagree strongly with you anyway. But I wasn't saying you were necessarily a "dummy"

I posted a poll by Gallup which quite CLEARLY delineates the purpose as being the stoppage of the flow of illegal immigrants. Maybe you need someone to help you with the big words.

Jobs, I can only speak for myself.

If anyone chooses Environment or Education, I'd really like to hear your opinion on why that is...You can send it to me via PM.

Utter nonsense, we're down to 4.9% unemployment. Everything is hunky-dory.

Actually you miss the point... no President is king, we the people wanted cheap crap and opened the door for corporate greed.

If you are older than 20 you'd know Reagan, some time Patron Saint of the New GOP, is quoted as saying- "Our trade policy rests firmly on the foundation of open markets"

He launched the Uruguay trade negotiations in 1986. He pushed for the Canada-US free trade agreement of 1988. That latter included Mexico. He vetoed two protection bills for textiles. Us imports went from 334 billion in 1980 to 663 in 1988.

BushI continued the trend- It was he who actually pushed for NAFTA, he SIGNED that agreement.

I know some on the Rabid Right like to blame things on the Clintons, but the reality is the GOP and their policies that walked us off the cliff. Clinton was faced with a signed agreement from a previous administration, like he was faced with a crap fest in Somalia, and was pretty much in a bind, to back us out of NAFTA would get attacked as unreliable to our allies. (think of all the crap we have faced due to that BS)

No ya can't pin this on Clinton, he was looking at making a deal for healthcare and went along with the previous administration's SIGNED agreement. It looks like he miscalculated the GOP congress critters he needed for healthcare...

But nice try... :peace

And what's Hillary's stance on free trade?

You live in the Detroit area? How many good paying jobs, lately?

Wait, no need to respond. I realize that post was in jest. Maybe an emoticon as a clue for the dense?

Um, I deployed the word rhetorically.

I apologize for any confusion that I might have caused.

It's ironic that you claim he doesn't understand the issues at hand when he's said he would target the biggest cause of government waste: baseline Budgeting.

Baseline budgeting may be the source of massive misunderstanding of our federal spending situation by the general public, but it is not a cause of waste at all - merely a reflection of the physical impossibility of zero-based budgeting on such scale, with a zillion of distinct programs and targets involved. Battling over merits of each item every year would consume more time and resources than the Congress has at its disposal.

Actual reductions in spending can come only from targeting specific items (large ones) and pushing it through. (And there Trump quickly runs into trouble with simple math, like proposing to cut $300B of "waste" from a $78B program - the Medicare drug spending.)

Talking about "waste" is a waste of time: One congressman's "waste" is another congressman's constituency's livelihood. While every program can be made more efficient, streamlining all of them to the point of technical perfection will not begin to solve our overspending problem. The federal government is simply doing too many things it should not be doing at all, or should be doing on a greatly reduced scale.

Because it's hard to give two shakes about craptakistan when our economy is in the hole. Strength comes from within. And it's becoming increasingly apparent that the American people are getting fleeced.

Its actually because our military power and foreign intervention has made it very safe at home. Thus we arent concerned about safety or who is fighting who somewhere else. Sucks that our soldiers have to go die for it, but it allows us to be more concerned with who won movie awards.

He's gonna create jobs by bringing jobs back.

He's gonna bring jobs back by creating jobs.

underpants.webp

It's fool proof.

lulz at a Libtertarian who thinks invading Iraq made us safe or who thinks toppling Assad will make us safe or thinks removing Gadaffi and arming terrorists in Libya makes us safe. Seriously lulz at that statement.

Freaking brilliant! Why didn't every other president think of that kind of system for creating jobs?

You mean to tell me that you two don't understand that bringing jobs back into this country isn't creating jobs? That's a thing you two don't understand? Wowza. No wonder you hate Trump.

I mean to say that bringing jobs back and creating jobs are not plans. They are end results. It would be like me saying I am going to be a millionaire. you asking me "how". And my reply being "by having a million dollars". That isn't an actual plan to becoming a millionaire. All I did was state the obvious.

And there are many reasons I hate Trump. A primary reason being I am not a moron.

Actually I believe he made his plan to bring jobs back perfectly clear when he laid out that he was going to make American great again.

It's like another discussion when Trump said Mexico is going to pay for the wall. Liberals and people with no knowledge of international agreements work immediately claimed it was ridiculous. When it was pointed out that Remittances can be taxed those same people became silent.

Corporations that ship jobs overseas can be taxes. When the cost of doing Business in INDIA/CHINA/VIETNAM/PHILLIPINES is the same as the cost of doing business in America then there's no point in having those jobs overseas.

Just because you know so little about business and trade that you can't see the forest for the trees doesn't mean that everyone else is that ignorant.
