President-elect Trump suggested to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last week that if a tariff for failing to address trade and immigration issues would kill the neighbor to the north’s economy, maybe it should become the 51st state, sources told Fox News.

Last Friday, Trudeau flew to Mar-a-Lago unannounced after Trump threatened to impose sweeping tariffs on Canadian products. Specifically, Trump is threatening to impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico over their failures to curb the flow of illegal immigrants and illicit drugs from those countries into the U.S.

No, pointing out the fact that trump did want to purchase Greenland and now talks about forcing Canada to become part of the United States indicates great stupidity on his part.

Since he does seem to be attracted to states with large landmasses, perhaps he will target China next....

It was a tongue in cheek comment by President Trump. It was clever in that he made his point to Trudeau very clearly and it must have made Trudeau feel very uncomfortable. You are way over thinking it. I don't need to travel the world (although I have a little) to understand what was going on there. The fact that you seem to think so makes me question whether you understand.
