LAKE LURE, N.C. — Federal emergency response personnel on Saturday had employees operating in hard-hit Rutherford County, N.C., stop working and move to a different area because of concerns over “armed militia” threatening government workers in the region, according to an email sent to federal agencies helping with response in the state.

Around 1 p.m. Saturday, an official with the U.S. Forest Service, which is supporting recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene along with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, sent an urgent message to numerous federal agencies warning that “FEMA has advised all federal responders Rutherford County, NC, to stand down and evacuate the county immediately. The message stated that National Guard troops 'had come across x2 trucks of armed militia saying there were out hunting FEMA.’”

Disgusting. Trump is a threat to our national security.

Post a link that works. OK, I found one. Washington Post.

Two federal officials confirmed the authenticity of the email, though it was unclear whether the quoted threat was seen as credible.

By Sunday afternoon, personnel were back in place, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Still trying to figure out how this ties back to President Trump, other than your severe case of TDS, that is. People in that part of Appalachia have been suspicious of the government for decades, even centuries. Ever hear about "revenuers"?

The sad irony is that the people impacted by the lack of FEMA volunteers in places like Rutherford County will be the very ones to still support Trump. My grandparents lived in Rutherfordton, NC so I I'm painfully familiar with it. For anyone who doubts Trump is largely responsible for this...

Former President Donald Trump doubled down on his misleading statements about federal disaster relief on Monday, falsely alleging that the Biden administration has allocated "almost all of the FEMA money to illegal migrants." At a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday, Trump falsely suggested that storm victims were only being offered $750 in aid.

I found your brush. Not sure if it is broad enough though.

WP used paraphrasing and didn’t get confirmation of the veracity from the NG or FEMA. Its baloney.

Trump talks. His extremist followers listen. Be that fine down to D.C and stage a coup or chase FEMA out N.C. so Trump’s narrative of FEMA not being productive reads more accurate.

What ever they think will help Trump they’ll provide.

So, no proof, just making shit up. Kind of like your firearm qualifications. All hat and no cattle.

Weak. Very weak.
FEMA workers can never be confused with tax collectors, not by hillbillies and not by you.
You friggin' know damned well where this attitude is coming from.

Funny how you types are so "suspicious of government" yet want the absolute worst people running it.

"How does this tie back to Trump" - I love how once again the "personal responsibility" crowd loves absolving their Orange fascist savior of all responsibility when it comes to his evil lying-ass rhetoric and stochastic terrorism.

Weak (and rude as well as wrong).

I give you links to coverage of a pattern of similar behavior where extremists readily appear to be acting on the words of Donald Trump* and instead of giving a counter if you think I’m wrong you simply claim I made up those links?

It’s rather obvious that Trump’s words have consequences seen in the behavior and actions of his more extreme supporters.

*the biggest part of the case regarding the actions of Jan 6th, 2021.

“Just two good ol’ boys. Never meanin’ no harm. Beats all you never saw, been in trouble with the law, since the day they was born.”

If National Guard are encountering "militia" claiming to be "hunting FEMA" then said National Guard troops should use force to detain said "militia" so that the Justice Department can prosecute these anti-American idiots as per the law.

Biden and Harris aren't spitting hatred all over the place, they are actually talking about ideas to move America forward for we the people. Trump on the other hand has been spitting venom and hatred all over the place for the past eight years. Be real, trump and right wing militias go hand in glove together. Or are they being misled into thinking trump is on their side?

Some loser on Facebook makes post claiming Haitians are eating pets - MAGA swallows every morsel, drooling for more.

Militia makes angry post about harrassing FEMA and MAGA goes “Nuh uh!!!!! I don’t believe anything I hear, except when Trump says it. Then it’s the whole truth. He’s my idol.”
