The argument is not about how long the pension funding requirement is, it is about whether or not the USPS is solvent now and into the foreseeable future.I gave my reply on this to another poster and those facts stand. But,to expand on them, hardy anyone is sending letters anymore (which is why mailboxes have been removed) and they were getting 55 cents a letter. People use the internet now All they are left with is the few bills that are still paid by snail mail and businesses that send junk mail and are losing their ass. The pension thing is not 75 years. It was about health insurance set asides. The Post office needs to go the way of the horse and buggy. They are inefficient and can't compete on costs with FedEx and other carriers.
Post Office Pensions: Some Key Myths And Facts
The article is too lengthy to quote here but feel free to read how it obliterates the "75 year" nonsense.
The fact is NOW you are going full on "its broke, its out-dated, lets kill it", abandoning the previous "it is solvent" argument.
You have, as per usual, moved the goal post, which is a loss of the point.
Good luck on your future endeavors.
