The Pentagon knows that modern lightweight expendable drone warfare is currently dominating the battle field, so they must be working on effective inexpensive countermeasures. Ramping these measures up ASAP is not something we have any choice about. We have to do it anyway! But it can probably be effectively and cheaply done with something as simple as rocket launched netting. Low-tech, readily available, and doesn't require any Chinese made components.
Once those low-tech counter measures are ramped up, we have literally tens-of-thousands of tanks, APCs and howitzers, much more than we would ever use, sitting and rusting in a field. We continued to crank out Abrams and Bradleys for years after the Army said they didn't want any more. Nothing to ramp up there. All that's required is the addition of effective drone countermeasures. Mosquito netting for the pests.
The US pioneered drone warfare, and have the most heavily armed and longest range drones of anyone on the planet. Ukraine can use those to target Russian manufacturing facilities on Russian soil - as they have already done against fuel and ammo dumps using lowtech drones before. Teaching the Kremlin of the futility of their Ukraine military adventurism isn't as difficult as it may seem. It just requires a CiC who doesn't have his head up his ass, and isn't Putin's puppet.
Russia on track to build artillery shell stockpile triple the size of the US's and Europe's combined: top US general
Gen. Chris Cavoli says Russia is rebuilding its forces swiftly, including by producing 10 times as many tanks as the US each year.

Russia hasn't exactly been idle. We are just starting to ramp up production. Plus Russia like Ukraine now has lots of battlefield experience we have never had in a theater like the one being fought in.
Not our style to pursue maximum bang for our dollar either when it comes to weapons. We do the opposite.
