Trump says he is very Angry at Putin.

You have 3 years, 9 months, and ~21 days left. :(
I don't think he'll last that long. But, we'll have to see, won't we?

It’s almost like Putin is untrustworthy. I mean who would have thought?

When Trump was the Candidate and then President Elect Putin was all in favor of a deal. Only now that Trump is President. No deal. Give me all of Ukraine.

Trump is now very angry. He’s warning Putin that if Russia keeps this up there will be Tariffs! Big Tariffs. Yuge Tariffs.

Yeah. I’m sure that will do it. /Sarcasm
Trump to Putin:

The Art Of The Flop.

He doesn’t need a majority to win.

It's nowhere close to a majority of swing state voters, either

Or, “normie,” the average American, favors an authoritarian rapist. That is simply who we are.

No - Democrats simply managed to make themselves even more repellant.

And aren’t you a single issue voter?

I am not.

You have little to say on the matter. If the disinterest corpse of Stalin ran against a Democrat you still wouldn’t vote for that Democrat no matter what because they are Pro-Choice.

I reject the binary - I did not vote for Trump, and would not vote for Stalin.

No honor among thieves.

More repellent than a rapist? You sure about that?

I think you're letting the populace off easy. It knows exactly what Trump is.

Electing fascists isn't that uncommon. We thought we were immune from it after fighting them in WWII. But as time passes, those memories fade.

Look at his supporters here. They think it's really cool when he humiliates someone.

You would not vote for the Democrat vs ****ing literal Hitler. You are a single issue voter. Your opinion is meaningless.

I'm not sure I want President Vance to run with incumbency in 2028, but, I guess we will see :-/

I don't know about Hitler - what I do know is that only Hitler is Hitler, and assigning everyone we don't like the role of "Hitler" only leaves us disarmed, with nothing to use when actual fascism shows up.

You are a single issue voter.

🤷‍♂️ I am not. Several things can make it impossible for me to vote for a candidate (in Hitlers case, for example, the racial eliminationism).

Your opinion is meaningless.

And equally in return is yours. :) Since both of us are arguing on an anonymous internet forum where our arguments and claims are meaningless and without impact in the real world, why not accept that it's better to discuss the issues at hand than try to snidely attack the poster?

More repellent than a rapist? You sure about that?

I think you may be confusing how you see Trump with how the general public see's Trump. Republicans view of Clinton as a rapist in 1996 didn't stop the normies from discounting much of those accusations (however credible they may be) in their general view of the man, and the same is likely true here.

Pro Lifers like myself, for example, might say that, yeah, someone guilty of sexual assault is probably less repellant than someone who wants to increase the number of murdered babies. Normies might be more likely to be put off by the fact that Democrats seem to be disturbingly dedicated to chopping parts off of little kids. Certainly they thought Biden couldn't be President, and Harris carried much of the baggage of having lied about that.

However, if you want to know why voters chose Trump, well, Democrat Pollster BluePrint asked them.

  1. The top reasons voters gave for not supporting Harris were that inflation was too high (+24), too many immigrants crossed the border (+23), and that Harris was too focused on cultural issues rather than helping the middle class (+17).
  2. Other high-testing reasons were that the debt rose too much under the Biden-Harris Administration (+13), and that Harris would be too similar to Joe Biden (+12).
  3. These concerns were similar across all demographic groups, including among Black and Latino voters, who both selected inflation as their top problem with Harris. For swing voters who eventually chose Trump, cultural issues ranked slightly higher than inflation (+28 and +23, respectively).
  4. The lowest-ranked concerns were that Harris wasn’t similar enough to Biden (-24), was too conservative (-23), and was too pro-Israel (-22).
That's all voters, generally, however. What about the swing voters who actually decided the election?

Check out that second-from-the-right column.

Now, Trump is going to create economic chaos on his own, so, that will probably equal out over time, but, if Democrats wanted to really win, they could get serious about border enforcement (in a credible way), drop the trans-kiddy-stuff like it was radioactive, and look generally competent (the Abundance Agenda stuff isn't a bad start on that).

Otherwise, we risk remaining in a contest to see which party can make people hate it the most, and we all lose.

I think you're letting the populace off easy. It knows exactly what Trump is.

I think you are confusing how you see the contest with how they do.

Electing fascists isn't that uncommon. We thought we were immune from it after fighting them in WWII. But as time passes, those memories fade.

Sure. There is a LOT of "let's have socialism in one nation" going around.

Look at his supporters here. They think it's really cool when he humiliates someone.

Yup. Tribalism is ugly, and makes us stupid and ugly.

Elections are choices between options. Trump is a terrible option. Democrats somehow managed to put forward an offering that people thought was even worse. :-/
Proving they can easily be misled...

Caviar will cost a lot.

Would you vote for a Pro-Choice candidate?

There would have to be very specific circumstances where I could.

However, you are confusing " could I vote for a candidate who supported abortion" with "is abortion all I care about". I would also not vote for a candidate who was running against the 1st or 2nd Amendment, or for reinstituting slavery, or for who had attempted or supported a self-coup against the US Government, or who wanted to commit genocide, etc., so on, and so forth.

I don't need to vote for a major party candidate. If neither major party is someone I can support, then neither one of them will get my vote 🤷‍♂️ If Abortion was all I cared about - if I was a single issue voter - I would have voted for Trump. I did not, because there are several stances I cannot put my name next to, not merely abortion as it is currently practiced.

Unless of course Democrats retake both Houses of Congress. Then we'll have 2 years of this left.

We've spent almost 30 years making the President increasingly powerful. Trump can do a lot of damage, even if the federal government as a whole is left stymied.

Hitler required 6 years to put the world into WWII.

And you explained much better than I why your opinion is meaningless. You are wholly disconnected from American politics. You are smug and self congratulatory about your meaninglessness. You tell yourself you are above politics. But it exists.

Have you?

Yup. It's rare.

I am well outside the mainstream, true!

However, that no more makes my opinion meaningless than anyone else's is :)

You are smug and self congratulatory about your meaninglessness. You tell yourself you are above politics. But it exists.

I do not. I try to avoid Tribalism in favor of intellectual and moral consistency. That is not the same thing as avoiding politics.

Blah, blah, blah.

Instead of posting what some TV Trump hater says that Trump said, post a video of Trump.

I can make up my own mind what he's saying.

Some don't want to do the homework for you. :giggle:

We can all make up our minds of what Trump said. We know what he said about Ukraine/Russia war. He is failing to end it as promised.

Actually, if all you do is listen to the media Trump haters, you really have no idea what he has said. All you know is what THEY say.
