Trump says he doesn't need the popular vote to win. This could be why.

This is scary.

On a Rachel Maddow report, she pointed out how Trump on numerous occasions at his rallies told his audiences, "I tell my people, 'We don't need votes. I have more votes now than anybody's ever had. So don't bother voting. It doesn't matter."

What's the game here? Why is Trump suddenly so confident he's going to win that he encourages his followers not to bother with the polling place?

If you listen to Maddow's analysis, it would mean that Trump believes he doesn't need people voting to win the election. Why would that be? It must have something to do with the election certifications if not the popular vote. Rolling Stones has pointed that in the swings states of Az, Ga, Mi, Ne, NC and Penn at least 70 loyal Pro-Trumpers have been put into positions of certifying election results to be able to refuse to certify the election results of those states, thus setting up a situation like what we had Jan 6 of 2021 but without Pence. My guess is these swing state certifiers want chaos at the Certification ceremony which will cause the matter to be sent to the SCOTUS like 2001 where a very pro-Trump court will decide the election results in favor of Trump thus handing him the presidency just like SCOTUS handed the presidency to Bush in 2001 even though Gore won the popular vote. No wonder Trump is cool as a cucumber even it appearing he's going to lose the popular vote. He knows the fix is in and his ass is covered by his lackeys.

I made a thread last week saying that I had this weird feeling the Repubs had some plan in store to steal the election. I think this is it. I would say at this point they are going to hand the victory to Trump regardless of how many votes Harris garners.

This is scary. Watch the analysis:

Trump is absolutely right. Electoral votes determine the winner in a General Election - NOT popular votes.

It's entirely possible that a candidate could win with a lower of popular votes that the loser of the election. FYI: Hillary had the most popular votes in 2016 (3 million more than Trump), but she lost to Trump because he had the Electoral votes.

I posted something on this about a week ago. People have known for a few years this was in the works. I believe Trump fully believes he can pull off a steal using all these election deniers. Surely some of them will outright refuse to certify their local elections. However, they will all be sued. And my hope is that without evidence of election fraud, it will wind up just like 2020. 63 election suits brought by republicans; 63 suits LOST by republicans.

Three things give democrats more hope this time around. One is I suspect we will win more votes than Biden did. 🤞
Two is there is an entire army of election lawyers on the ready to defend democracy and our elections. 🤞
The third is Kamala Harris (the VP) will be heading up the senate and will surely not allow any shenanigans in the joint session. 🤞

I think we all remember the 2016 race. No need to remind us.

Thanks for the insight.

Since Harris will be counting the electoral votes, There is no way Trump wins. She will simply do what Trump insisted Pence do. And president Biden, as part of his official duties will order Harris to do just that, just like Trump ordered Pence. According to Trump, Pence is a traitor who ought to be prosecuted for his crimes because he failed to obey the president. Harris doesn't want to be called a traitor, so she will just as Trump would want. Harris is elected president.

I've been trying to warn about this for weeks, if not longer. But I dont know all the laws and circumstances...but if I know about it, then for damned sure the Democratic Party does and they better be putting safeguards in place and developing their own (legal of course) strategies.

The electors can ignore the voters and make their own partisan decisions before they officially certify the votes that day. The VP is supposed to read the electoral votes. In the case of Jan 6, the scheme was to deny the electoral votes and send them back to illegally-placed "false" electors in a few swing states that would then vote for mango MAGAt magnet.

This is just Trump zigging where others seem to think zagging is the way to go. Tell the insiders "We don't need votes. We got it locked up, regardless."

Trump is still telling his rallies he wins or it's rigged, just like you've been saying for over 4 years. So, no matter how it turns out, Trump is right no matter what. Trumpsters might as well stay home.

But what's to stop this from landing in front of SCOTUS like in 2001 where they will decide in favor of TRUMP?

No.

It's Trump.

This man has never told the truth, why would he even try now?

This is simply another con, showing such "strong man" strength!

But...the truth is he's frightened.

He's backed out of the scheduled debate with Harris, proposing a totally rigged venue for himself. It's another scam, he has no intention of debating her...he's afraid to do so because he will lose and he knows it.

But this allows him to save face, he can falsely claim that Harris has backed out that she is a afraid of him.

He is a clever little boy. The emphasis on little boy, with no backbone who has perfected making lame excuses over eight decades.

We won't get to she her shred him as he blathers about batteries and sharks...all we're going to get is this prepackaged Spam Trump spewing his shallow one liners.

For a grown man he sure is childish

Below are two articles on some, but not all of the preparations being made to combat GOP cheating.

Did we not already expect Trump to try to pull another electoral college scam?
Of course he will.
Let's hope the FEC is ready for it.

There are "legal" ways to attempt it. :( And he has a SCOTUS highly favorable to him.

When Pence refused to go along with the scheme (after much soul searching and research) the next step was to stop the certification and kill Pence (the SS was to do that). Pence screwed that up when he refused to leave the Capitol with the unknown SS detail.

But why tell his followers a dozen times, "Don't bother to vote." I don't get the logic.

@_@ I never heard that. Sounds CT'y. Do you have any links?

Trump had help from the Russians.

Supporting electoral interference is a bad look.
