Promoting all types of people is what DEI is supposed to be about. The problem is. DEI hiring is being used to select a person based on demographics, instead of the best qualified.
Look at the United Airlines commitment. This is wring. The best need to be selected, not the best who fit a quota.

United Airlines will focus on pilot diversity by allowing 50% of training slots to new pilots to women or people of color.
