Trump said 'Hitler did a lot of good things,'

It is well established that Trump patterned his whole Presidency on Hitler!
LAFFRIOT!!!

Is anyone surprised? I'm not.

I'm not surprised. He idolizes murderous dictators like Hitler, Mr. Putin, etc. When he grows up, he wants to be just like them. Only problem is, that bastard will never grow up, and he lacks intelligence and balls.

I think goes beyond idolizing, wet dreams.

Yes, Hitler and Stalin and Mao did some good things. They built highways, railroads, etc.

Even our local robbers, sucker punchers, looters, rapists, and murderers have done some good things in their lives. Maybe they took care of their sick mothers. Maybe they were kind to dogs.

If authors want to disparage the Honorable Donald J. Trump, they should find something worthy to report.

"Reporting" that he acknowledged some of the "good" things that Hitler did is just a cheap shot.

lol...if you say so, I am sure you believe Hitler did many good things. Not that this surprises me in the least.
I am old enough to remember a world that didn't cherry pick the "good" things Hitler did, to try and defend a moron who can't keep his feet out of his mouth. In the not so distant path this kind of utter shit would have been scarped off the the shoe of time and left in the gutter, where it belongs.

The spokesperson for former President Donald Trump has denied a new claim that he praised Adolf Hitler at one point during his presidency.

Trump, according to Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Bender's new book, Frankly, We Did Win This Election, told his then-chief of staff John Kelly on a visit to Europe to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the WWI, “Well, Hitler did a lot of good things," which reportedly left the retired U.S. Marine Corps general stunned, however, Liz Harrington called the claim "totally false.""The report from the Michael Bender book is totally false," she told the Washington Examiner on Wednesday. "President Trump never said this. It was probably made up by an incompetent general who was fired."

You’d never hear me say Trump did some good things.

He'll get there, been committing felonies all of his life.
I'm not so sure that the government has the guts to jail him. We know where the criminal right stands: with the criminal.

Well said!

Facts are facts. If you cannot deal with them, even when distasteful, then you are not a rational indivdual.

Besides that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?
Exactly. Hitler dealing with inflation in the 1920s is like the quality of John Booth's acting.

When "good" is done out of pure self interest, is it still good?
Whether it is or whether it is not, this is the foundation of our political system.

Because that would be the only context one could discuss the "good" Hitler did.
There are many contexts.

Also, one has to consider that good is a matter of perspective. Bees are good unless an accidental sting could kill you. Ladybugs are good unless you happen to be an aphid. You get my point, right?
I don't. It does no harm to acknowledge Hitler's popular appeal. The important thing is to keep things in perspective.

The popular equivalent in this forum is to say that Trump was an asshole, which overcomes the quality of his administration. To be clear, that's

Trump is an asshole = Hitler did good things
Trump's administration did a good job = Hitler was a monster

The "GOP" has become blatant, shameless and criminal.

Not today, speaks volumes about our country in 2021 and the huge number of people who voted for this shady POS .. so sad.

If historians and educators want to tell me one of the reasons Hitler stayed in power, was that he made the trains run on time or kept petty crime rates down, I am delighted that they make that point. Its one we should all understand about how totalitarianism, fascism and communism maintain their grip on power. What they did well and took credit for definitely matters insofar as it incentivized institutions and people to 'look the other way' while their own freedoms, and safety were compromised, corroded and then lost.

When neo fascists, white nationalists, wanna-be dictators and their apologists want to tell me exactly the same thing, without that context I get very very nervous. I don't think it takes a membership in a MENSA club to see why.

Imagine a real President like Bush, Obama, Reagan or Clinton saying that. It would never happen. You simply do not give any credit to one of the most evil people ever especially as an American President. Whether Trump actually said this or not doesn’t matter. What does matter is it’s entirely believable he is capable and willing to say such things.

I voted twice for the Honorable Donald J. Trump.

It is humorous to see how Dems claim that he wanted to be another Hitler.

As an impartial observer, I know that he was NOT clever enough to ever become a dictator.

If we ever have a dictator (and it is becoming more possible every day), it will be someone who knows how to charm the majority of the people. That is an ability that Mr. Trump totally lacks.

Take this quiz, let us know how you did:

Of course Mr T said it .

Because Mr H did .

His reputation might be still sky high if he had suffered a fatal heart attack in say , 1937 . But then things started to go down hill .
