I just find it very telling that his loyalty to anyone who he thinks will vote for him goes way beyond any loyalty to the country or ALL of the American people he's supposed to represent and serve. We all knew it was all about his base and his base only from the getgo, but now he makes it all very clear publicly, of course some of his 'fans' will continue to worship him, even though many of them have been dumped on by him.

The media still hangs on his every word.

But if they want a one-on-one interview, they'll have to pay (with honesty). CNN doesn't have any. They are broke.

It should be obvious to everyone that Trump's chopper pressers and tweets are filled with inaccuracies, exaggerations, and outright lies. The function of the press is to hold the president accountable to the American people. Why do you give Trump a pass on the truth?

Thats not true. Hes done interviews with the NY Times and had Stephanopolous interview him in the White House

Truth isn't a consideration. The goal is only to remove Trump at any cost, even if the entire nation suffers. This, in order to put another ineffective, BS spouting stuffed shirt president in that will only further screw up the country.

You’re right about The Times and Stephanopolous. I stand corrected on those two however, there is reason to believe that Trump fears what might happen if he faced off with someone like Tapper or Zakaria.

For the same reason every other president and member of congress has been given a pass, they all lie. If we only elected people that never lied, we would cease to be able to have elections. The real problem is the hypocrisy around calling them out on their lies. the left only cares when the right does it, and the right only cares when the left does it. We either have to get to the place where lying by politicians is completely unacceptable or completely ignored. I choose to look at policy, not the person. When the lies start to affect me, my family, or the country at large, then it becomes a problem. Lying about personal stuff happens in this country with impunity by just about everyone, so if someone can show standing that they were negatively impacted by Trump's or any other politicians lies, then by all means lay out your case, otherwise it is partisan bickering and should be dismissed without further thought.

All previous presidents held press briefings where they answered the questions put to them. Trump feels he does not have to engage in this exchange, but would rather tweet whatever inanity comes to mind. If you really conflate the two as the same, there really is no point in discussing this.

Yes, the media does hang on his every word. His ego is such that his need for attention compels him to always want to see his face on the screen. He’s a lowbrow entertainer. A shock jock in a rumpled suit.

Honesty is not something Trump even understands. He’s on Fox all the time because they rarely ask him a challenging question. They don’t call it Trump TV for nothing.

Trump’s idea of what you call “honesty” is fawning admiration. Trump doesn’t have the character, stamina or courage to take the heat.

Harry Truman would have been disgusted by a loser like Trump. Truman said it for the ages, “if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen”.
