Trump Proposes Own TV Network

I like it.

A rational human being in the White House, and Trump ranting on TV, trying to outdo Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh. He just might make a success out of it.

well folks, he finally said it. He finally said what he wanted to do since 2015. Start an international conservative network that rivals CNN (Fox News?) Trump may be looking for his next gig soon anyway...

Trump Slams CNN Again On Twitter, Proposes 'Starting Our Own Worldwide Network'

Rome feckin burns. The US infrastructure remains in disrepair. Approximately 20% of American children exist below the national definition of poverty. Minorities in America still hope for an equal chance to grab the brass ring. Farmers are losing damn near everything in middle America. The gap between the 1% and everyone else grows. Prescription drugs prices put life changing and live saving drugs out of reach for many Americans. All this and where does Trump want to focus (not that Trump is able) his attention? He is spending his time working on starting a conservative network. Goot Gott in Himmel!

Yeah, that's a brilliant idea, Donny J. I can't tell you the number of times I've heard Americans say, "I wish Trump would stop screwing around with silly things facing Americans and focus on starting a conservative media network. That is what is important. That is why I voted for Donald Trump."

Wonder who gave him this idea? Well they can call it Russia Today...just like the one in Russia. Well Russia will soon be running the USA anyway. Might as well start learning Russian now.

I am betting a LOT of unemployed and poor trumpeteers will support this network. It'll be like those evangelical networks that have made fake christians into billionaires. Can just see it now. Ivanka promoting her clothing line. Malaria promoting her jewellery line. trump promoting his university, casino, vodka etc . It will be 24/7 trump promoting their crap.

And the uneducated trumpeteers will shell out what remaining money they have and buy all his crap.

What an ignorant remark. He's already got at least two such networks: VOA and Fox.

Having them both, why is Trump so preoccupied with CNN? Particularly when MSNBC, not CNN, is the ideological opposite of Fox?
umm...what? cnn is just as liberal:

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/cnn/
Notwithstanding liberal bias, CNN is a materially more reliable news reporting source than both Fox and MSNBC. Frankly, of all the things one might demand of a news network, highly reliable reporting is first and foremost. Yes, of course, "high/very high" across the board is ideal, but barring perfection or near perfection, in comparing news outlets and according approbation to them, high/very high on reporting is first and foremost.

From the passage you quoted from the evaluator of your own choosing:
  • "CNN’s straight news reporting would earn a High rating for factual reporting."
    • What's that mean? It means that if CNN (not it's editorialists) reports "XYZ happened thusly," viewers can rely on, feel confident XYZ indeed happen thusly.

Per Media Bias Fact Check's methodology exposition:
      • "HIGH = a score of 1 – 3, which means the source is almost always factual, sources to mostly credible low biased or high factual information and makes immediate corrections to incorrect information and has failed only 1 fact check."
  • "We rate [CNN] Mixed for factual reporting due to misinformation and failed fact checks from guests and pundits."
    • You'll notice that for this dimension, the source isn't CNN but rather the people who appear on CNN as guests and/or pundits. That's material because those folks' remarks, as it the case with commentators/columnists on all news programs, reflect their own perspectives, values, research and analysis, not CNN's.

Obtaining a "mixed" rating is likely unavoidable if a network/outlet is committed to having panel discussions among editorialists with disparate points of view, particularly when non-disparagement agreements circumscribe the nature of verities certain panelists/guests may acknowledge and apply in their analysis and annotations. It's unavoidable because program hosts -- generally, at least on CNN, genuine journalists with objective news reporting backgrounds and subject to journalism's professional standards -- and their production support cannot "on the fly" fact check and correct everything guests and pundits say. Indeed, sometimes it fitting to do so even if they can because the point of the guest/pundit being there is to let him/her express whatever s/he wants to say.
    • Per Media Bias Fact Check's methodology exposition:
      • "MIXED = a score of 4 – 6, which means the source does not always use proper sourcing or sources to other biased/mixed sources. They may also report well sourced information as well. Mixed sources will have failed one or more fact checks and does not immediately correct false or misleading information. While the majority of the information may be factual on these sources, they need to be checked. Further, any source that does not disclose a mission or ownership information will automatically be deemed mixed."

As I originally noted, MSNBC is Fox's ideological opposite. Sure, if one's sole basis for adjuding news networks is but the banal metric of whether the network's overall bias is left, right or center, then sure, CNN and MSNBC are comparable. I mentioned MSNBC, however, because unlike CNN, MSNBC is rated on par with Fox, "mixed," as goes its reporting and is roughly as far left as Fox is right, whereas CNN is not.

I don't know what others do, but I tend to keep CNN on in the background when I'm busy, much as one might have a news radio station on just to be aware if "**** hits the fan," and watch another network, as well as read other publishers' content, to expressly watch/consume news and information. AFAIAC, Fox, CNN and MSNBC have some stripe of "The McLaughlin Group" dynamic for much of the day before 11 a.m. and after 4 p.m.

Makes me remember John Stewart's nickname for Trump;
**** Face von Clownstick.

I thought Bill Maher came up with that one. Well I can't post what I call him. I don't want to get another infraction.

When the Democrats reoccupy the White House in January, 2021, all the media (with the possible exception of FOX) will be fawning over the new president, regardless of who s/he is.

So millions of Americans (including me) will want to hear what the Honorable Donald J. Trump thinks about what the new president is doing.

Hopefully, Mr. Trump can have at the very least a weekly hour show on FOX.

Democrats, of course, will be shouting, "Our long nightmare is over!" Mr. Trump can explain why our national nightmare may just be starting. He may be able to galvanize Republicans and Independents to return a Republican Congress in 2022.

And yet Republicans criticized Obama for returning to public life after almost two years. But Trump "galvanizing" Republicans is okie dokie. Interesting paradox.

Yeah it’s calls the White House channel but YouTube would probably censor it if this president goes live!

May it be as successful as Trump University, Trump steaks, or even the Trump Taj Mahal.

Sent from Trump Plaza's basement using Putin's MacBook.

Nixon already helped Roger get trained for government TV which he later turned into Fox news. Why does he need more than Fox?

Fox and Trump go hand-in-hand - both are lying and dishonest.

I think Trump needs to get the Ministry of Truth cracking on establishing a state run media outlet ASAP. He's really missing a bet if he doesn't .

I can see why Trump would find this appealing. Finally a news network that can explain to him what's going on in a way that even he can understand. Using crayons and sock puppets, of course.
