POTUS 2024 - Trump or DeSantis?

DeSantis was first elected to Congress in 2012, defeating his Democratic opponent Heather Beaven. During his tenure he became a founding member of the Freedom Caucus and was an ally of President Donald Trump. DeSantis frequently criticized Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He briefly ran for U.S. Senate in 2016, but withdrew when incumbent senator Marco Rubio sought reelection. During his 2018 gubernatorial campaign, DeSantis emphasized his support of Trump. He won the Republican nomination in August, and chose state representative Jeanette Nuñez as his running mate. The close results of the general election between DeSantis and the Democratic nominee, Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum, triggered a machine recount. DeSantis was certified the winner with a 0.4% margin of victory. DeSantis is running for reelection in the 2022 Florida gubernatorial election against the Democratic nominee, Charlie Crist.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in Florida, DeSantis resisted imposing restrictions including face mask mandates, stay-at-home orders, and vaccination requirements. In May 2021, he signed into law a bill that prohibited businesses, schools, cruise ships, and government entities from requiring proof of vaccination. In March 2022, DeSantis signed into law the Parental Rights in Education Act, called the "Don't Say Gay" law by its opponents, which prohibits instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in public school classrooms from kindergarten to grade three.

DeSantis is the youngest governor of a U.S. state.

In German we say: "eine Wahl zwischen Pest und Cholera = a choice between The Plague and cholera"

Hopefully the RNC will have Trump and DeSantis together on the debate stage. We can then make an informed choice of who would be the best to lead the country.

Either candidate would be a tremendous improvement over the current POTUS, who is embarrassingly incompetent.

But if Trump wants my vote he will need to take another Cognitive Assessment Test.

What was the first one? This:

I took this MoCA test, and Trump described it perfectly. If the people who are mocking Trump had taken this MoCA test, then they would understand completely why Trump described it in the manner that he did.

To check memory skills, at the very end of the test, the tester asks what were the answers to question 3b. They don't tell you what the question 3b was, they simply ask you to recall the answers that you gave for question 3b.

It's not easy to do this, and yes, you get extra points.

The girl that produced this lampoon of Trump is a fool, and she's too ignorant to know that. Her bad - not Trump's.

I don't like either of them, but if I bother to vote, I will vote Republican.

We need a pool betting on how long it takes before Trump thinks up a nickname for DeSantis, insults his wife, and reassures himself his penis is adequately sized.

GOP primaries in the Trumpist age are always the height of class and substance.

If Desantis runs (as I think he should), Trump will have a fit and attack him viciously. I don't think Trump should run, but I believe he will.

Roger Stone said it would be "ingratitude and treachery" by Ron DeSantis to run against Trump: https://www.yahoo.com/news/roger-stone-cautioned-ron-desantis-033903537.html

Who do you prefer?
That might be true, Trump did help DeSantis win but then I'm not sure who is the best candidate if we want to win and be effective in governing. At first glance I'd say DeSantis will be less controversial and less devisive. However, I know that's not really true because if DeSantis is the candidate the democrats will attack him in the same way they did Trump. Made up BS like Trump Russia Collusion and every other lie that they can muster, including being a Trump clone. So I don't know that is matters. Whoever the voters end up supporting is who it should be. Maybe even someone other than those two. I know for sure there is no democrat I can think of I would support over any of the republicans that will likely be the nominee.

Jerry Springer would be AWESOME!! So gnarly-bitchin'!!!(y)
