See, Trump's not such a bad guy after all is he? (Why doesn't Trump use his own money???? Maybe he needs it for legal fees)

Former President Trump raised more than $1 million dollars on Monday to benefit victims in the wake of the devastation left by Hurricane Helene.

A GoFundMe page was launched by the Trump campaign following the former president's visit to battered Georgia where he toured hard-hit areas left in Helene's wake.

There are credible charities that consistently help during natural disasters:

I would think Trump could raise 10 times what he could raise on GoFundMe just by calling his immediate family members for donations of a few million each. Although there may be some legal reasons they aren't allowed to be involved in charities – together or individually. I can't recall the exact terms of their settlements.

Wasn't Trump banned from being involved in charities after ripping off the last one he was involved with?. Taking money from kids with cancer or something like that?

He will never send them the money. Plus why is he asking for other people’s money? Couldn’t he donate himself?

I hope the vast majority of that funding actually goes to help with recovery from said hurricane, I've heard stories about what Trump charities are like, and they aren't good.

Edit: Is there a reason Fox didn't link to the gofundme in question? Is there some legal reason they didn't?

Edit2: Average donation appears to be about $207, thought at least one person donated $500,000, and according to the article you linked, 3 entities others donated $100,000, which means 4 entities donated about half of the amount raised.
So far at least.

Oh look, Trump found yet another way to bilk suckers out of their cash.

What are the guarantees the any of money will actually go to those who need it? Probably the same level of guarantee that previous Trump charities were raising money that went to the actual causes.

Might as well throw your money away on a pair of Trump sneakers or a Trump watch.

I -will- say it's a good gesture. And I will say it's an even better gesture if he follows through. That said, if he simply pockets the money, then he's doing a GoFundMe scam that's as old as time. Nothing original here either way.
That is where I am at. Wonderful gesture.

But I am not stupid enough to set aside the notion that he may use it for his own purposes. :ROFLMAO:

I will stick to Red Cross. Not perfect - but consistently mobilizing forces in times of disaster.

He did the same for the Butler, PA

Meredith O'Rourke of Tallahassee, also Trump's top finance person, is listed as the organizer of the online fundraiser, which on Monday morning blew past its $1 million goal with $4 million in donations listed.

Don't get me wrong here, any money raised to help out is a good thing. But the reality is, Trump could have called Elon and raised $100M in 5 minutes. He has many buddies worth billions.

This is nothing more than an election ploy to help him get votes. He had no business getting in the way of the clean-up effort.

Weird, she is also listed on numerous other Trump fundraisers..

So we’re supposed to believe that the guy who stole money from a children’s cancer charity is actually going to give charity money to people?

😂😂😂

No thanks. My donation already went to the Red Cross because they are a legitimate organization and will actually get help to the people on the ground with the donations they receive.

MAGAs are their gullibility.

Now, now... Trump charities are known for their thrift at administering donations... :ROFLMAO:
