They are a safe target to scapegoat with little risk of political blowback. Why do Republicans oppose transgenders so vigorously?

Easy to exploit for fearmongering.
Culture wars are a profitable distraction to focus the masses' attention on while the grifting continues.
I just can't can't understand the fuss about where someone micturates and defecates. He deduced that “a male employee must use male facilities like other males,” an assertion that completely invalidates transgender identity
Well, it is the left shoving all kinds of woke beliefs on the country and it is the right that is do spooked by any kind of progress. The right blames the left for focusing on identity issues, yet they seem to be the ones doing it.
Wow, you managed to address the topic, and make one of the most sane, sagacious, and thoughful replies I have ever read.Wow. Looks like the left has finally found an activist judge. I thought they didn't exist.
Because conservatives only started caring when trans went into womens sports, the biggest mistake transgenders ever did was to attack feminist institutions.
Abortion is not some uniform womens issue. Female conservatives are more pro-life than most male liberals.Sort of a blood sacrifice to women after stripping them of their constitutional right to control their own bodies.
But this is not about sports. Are you arguing they must lose rights because they tried to fit in?
Oh, it's coming. It's possible that gay "conservatives" who bought into the faux anti-trans hate campaign might discover that they're they next right wing target in coming years.

Trans in womens sports was, even liberal women were uncomfortable with that
"Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, who holds a reputation for being a far-right activist judge, declared that while Title VII of the Civil Rights Act does not protect LGBTQ people from workplace harassment based on their sexual or gender orientation. The case was brought forth by the Heritage Foundation, a far-right, culturally conservative organization that heavily influenced the writings and goals of Project 2025.
Kacsmaryk, a Trump appointee, specifically targeted transgender people in his ruling, stating that they had to simply deal with any kind of discriminatory treatment in their workplace. He deduced that “a male employee must use male facilities like other males,” an assertion that completely invalidates transgender identity in its entirety rather than actually acknowledging the issues they face at work. Kacsmaryk even went so far as to order federal employment policy to remove“all language defining ‘sex’ in Title VII to include ‘sexual orientation’ and ‘gender identity.”.
This all directly contradicts the Supreme Court’s 2020 Bostock v. Clayton County ruling, which stated plainly that Title VII protects LGBTQ workers from identity-based firing and harassment."

It wasn't always this way In 2016, polls showed most Republicans opposed anti-transgender bathroom laws.
There was quite a public backlash against NC's anti-trans bathroom bill.
In the 2016 election, Trump's seemed to personally support transgenders using the bathroom of their choice.
"Discussing the North Carolina law that prohibits transgender individuals from using a bathroom that does not match their gender at birth during a town hall event on NBC's Today on April 21, 2016, Trump said, "There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go. They use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate." Trump continued "There has been so little trouble."[10]

For decades, the social cons went after the L, G, and the B. They lost that war in 2015 when gay marriage was legalized nationwide, effectively ending that fight.
Having a pathological need to dominate sexual minorities, the social cons then decided to go after the T. When they ultimately lose that fight--and they will--they will go after the Q.
Social cons just refuse to live and let live.
Yet its the Dems who are guilty for making it an issue.
Sure seems that way. I wonder if they'll take it as far as allowing states to make homosexuality illegal again.Oh, it's coming.

Do the gays force themselves into girls locker rooms in K-12 or compete against women in women's sports? It's possible that gay "conservatives" who bought into the faux anti-trans hate campaign might discover that they're they next right wing target in coming years.
I'm not sure that they do they oppose the ideology but a man who identifies as a woman is the same thing as a woman that's a lie and it's 100% false. They also oppose inflicting this on children which is good."Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, who holds a reputation for being a far-right activist judge, declared that while Title VII of the Civil Rights Act does not protect LGBTQ people from workplace harassment based on their sexual or gender orientation. Think about what you're saying here bathroom laws. This seems to be the cornerstone of this so-called Rights movement. You're not fighting for jobs you're not fighting for housing you're not fighting for education you're fighting over toilets. The civil Rights era of our day is over where you pee.It wasn't always this way In 2016, polls showed most Republicans opposed anti-transgender bathroom laws.
It's not an anti-transather bill it's an anti dudes in the women's bathroom bill. The only way it could possibly be misconstrued as anti-trans is if you're not pulling off your transition very well which means you probably not really trans. There was quite a public backlash against NC's anti-trans bathroom bill.
Again a civil rights movement about toilets. In the 2016 election, Trump's seemed to personally support transgenders using the bathroom of their choice.
Mostly the push to transition 12-year-olds and I don't know why people are whining about toilets. If you look enough for like a lady no one's going to say anything to you."Discussing the North Carolina law that prohibits transgender individuals from using a bathroom that does not match their gender at birth during a town hall event on NBC's Today on April 21, 2016, Trump said, "There have been very few complaints the way it is.
