Trump issues 90 day pause on some tariffs

View attachment 67564655

Waiting for a news source to public an article and then I'll link it here.

So, tariffs get kicked back for another three months, except for reciprocals and China apparently.

EDIT: CNN now reporting: https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-tariffs-cnn-town-hall-04-09-25/index.html
So the idiot backs off and declares victory?
I keep wondering, is he really that stupid or is he just playing to a stupid audience?
No reason it has to be one or the other, I guess.

More unpredictability and insanity.

Businesses have to make decisions that stretch far into the future and Trumps actions are insane, nobody makes decisions about factories or investment if the entire landscape of global trade could change everyday, let alone every 90 days.

**** Trump and those that voted for this bullshit.

I think the MAGA arguments for corporate CapEx directives - just went out the window.

So are we doing this every 90 days now?
Given roughly 4 week transit time for container ships leaving China to arrive at our more distant ports, I would expect this process to repeat roughly every 30 days or so. That allows Donald to announce and make lots of noise about tariffs, but still be able to cancel them before they actually apply to goods.

So how are we going to get people to build factories here with only 10% tariffs?
It won't.
